Dancing with the Stars Season 8 Finale: Results

Posted By: admin On: May 20, 2009 Comments: ( 4 )

Lady Gaga starts us off with “Just Dance” tonight. I can’t say I like Lady Gaga’s outfit - more like Lady GAG! She’s got one leg cut out of a leather body suit which is just hideous along with her mullet hair. That’s over with and Tom and Samantha are in the center of the dance floor. Samantha’s dress is very poofy and I kind of like it. The only thing I don’t like is the print. Now we get a recap after we just had a recap show. The judges agree that this is the best season ever and think they’ve got the best three dancers in the finals - anything can happen according to Len. Each finalist will hit the floor one last time for the judges vote. Also, this just in, Jeffrey Ross is back to roast the stars which should be fun. He did that last year. Go Jeff! I think he’s a good guy - not a good dancer, but good guy. :)

Now we get highlights from the first three weeks of the season. Seeing Melissa replace Nancy O’dell - I wonder now if Nancy would be in the finals? Something tells me No. LOL! Melissa was the perfect replacement for Tony. With these recaps we get the actual dancers back to show us how bad they really were. Belinda Carlisle is up first. Bad Bad BAD! Denise Richards is next and they dance the Quickstep. She only gets two Bads: Bad BAD! Now Holly Madison with what looks like longer, white hair extensions. Dmitry got his hair cut - more clean cut now. I don’t care! Samantha interviews them all. Tom plugs Samantha being on Broadway - and she acts like she didn’t have a clue he was going to do that. Whatever! She probably wrote it in to toot her own horn.

Now we are seeing highlights from Steve Woz.’s time on Dancing - and I don’t get why we are watching this again. I guess it was a highlight of the show or something. *shrugs*Annnnd he’s back dancing his Quickstep with the pink boa. He didn’t do too bad for an old big boned nerd. He was dared to do the worm again and he didn’t have a clue how to do it anymore. EMBARRASSING! David Allan Grier is back and I’m fast forwarding to get this show on the road. I am not live so I can do that. Now Steve-O is doing his number and I will watch b/c I miss Steve-O. He did a nice leap in the air and almost bit it and falling into the steps again - yet he was a little further away than last time, but I thought that was funny. He did good though. David made a funny stating his favorite friends on the show were the three judges stating they text him all the time. LOL! Steve-O said if he would have just done that dance like he just did the first time that the trophy might just be his. LOL!

Former Dancing stars come back to weigh in on each of the three finalists. The most noteworthy one is Vivica A. Fox stating she’d like to scoop Gilles up on a chip. LOL! Of course Tony Dovolani’s former partners think it is his time to take the trophy.  Lots of other filler stuff, ya know.

Now we get to find out who will be our newest professional dancer for next season as Anna and Mayo face off. Who will be the new pro? Will Len show his bum in the supermarket? I hope not!  Anna is the winner. Go Anna! Poor Mayo - I’m sure we’ll see him again though. No bum baring for Len. Maks and Anna dance the Quickstep again. I really liked this one.

Lawrence Taylor is back. Tom was poking fun at him that he was so quick to leave the show for his golf game. LOL! He is doing his jive. I find it funny that they come back and do the dance that kicked them off the show. Funny stuff. Dancing their Samba are Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough. I am multi-tasking tonight b/c not only am I watching DWTS and blogging, but I’m also voting for Kris Allen on American Idol. I can barely get through so I’m not too happy about not getting that many votes in for him. I guess I’ll keep trying. Samantha is stammering with Julianne and Chuck and Tom has to interrupt to get her back on track. AWKWARD!

Jeff Ross is roasting the final 3. He makes fun of Tom comparing him to Ryan Seacrest. He makes fun of of the judges calling them “Smokin” “Croakin” and “Flamin”. I’ll leave it up to you to decide which ones those go with - but I’ll give you a hint that it does go in order with how they are sitting. LMAO! Jeff said no stars actually made it to the finale. The audience booed. Heck, this is all in fun, crowd.  He said Lil’ Kim was just here for community service and he bet it was hard doing the Cha Cha Cha with a bullet proof vest and made fun of Ty for doing the Brokeback Mambo. Poor Ty! He asked if Steve took a bite out of the Apple logo and said he looks like a chipmunk stating he ate Simon and Theodore. Steve just cackled and looked embarrassed. I felt bad for Steve. Jeff said Belinda was dressed like a hooker from Battle Star Galatica. He said Gilles had the largest part in Sex in the City referring to his private parts. LOL! He said Shawn was too short to ride space mountain at Disney. Jeff asks if he could marry Melissa and said wouldn’t it be a shame if she came in second on this show too. I don’t think Melissa liked that too well and I’m positive by looking at Tony’s face that he didn’t either. She did laugh at the end so I think she took it well. Everyone clapped. I noticed that Jeff didn’t make fun of David Alan Grier. Hmmm…

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough are now doing their thing - to Jailhouse Rock. Tom thought Lil’ Kim would be in the finals tonight. Tom usually doesn’t take sides so it is good to see who he likes. Also back are Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower doing the Lindy Hop. Now we get all three finalists talking smack and how the trophy is theirs. Yeah yeah - let’s get this show on the road, plz.

Our three finalists are now making their way to the stage. They are wearing costumes we’ve already seen b/c they’ve picked a dance they’ve already done to see if they can get all perfect 10’s from the judges this time around. First up is Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. We get to see their first meeting and their journey so far. They dance their Cha Cha Cha to Pretty Young Thing by Michael Jackson. Let’s just enjoy and watch…no typing. LOL! I loved it even more this time around. Great Job, Shawn and Mark!! Len said the longer she goes the stronger she gets. He loved her performance tonight. Bruno said she is getting hot - sassy and sexy. Great technique. Carrie Ann said everyone underestimated her - she powered her way right through the top and she deserves to be right where she is. I smell all 10’s. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30. Way to go!!

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are up next doing their Samba. This is the one with Melissa’s solo in the beginning. So sexy! They end with Melissa up on the judges table and Tony joining her - but he kisses Bruno instead of Melissa. ha! Bet Bruno LOVED that. Bruno said she is even more appetizing for a second helping and he wants thirds, fouths and fifths. Carrie Ann called her Tony’s muse and how far she’s come. Len loved her presence - style and elegance. I smell all 10’s again. And, I was right. A perfect 30.

Finally is Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke dancing their Argentine Tango. I remember this one - super sexy!! Loved this one. Let’s sit back and enjoy one last time, shall we? Loved it again! Nice intricate footwork. So sexy! Gilles looks teary eyed. Carrie Ann called him a very special performer - stating he brings amazing artistry to his dances that set him apart. Len said Gilles has brought him the most pleasure to watch. Bruno called it an Argentine triumph - said he had perfect character and a star is born. Gilles looks emotional. More 10’s for a perfect 30 score.

Lady Gaga is back  singing “Love game” where she sings “I wanna take a ride on your disco stick” and I thought this was a family show? Guess not.  She removed her mullet and she has both legs to her onesie hot pink glittery outfit.

Well now we hear who is in third place. Tony SOOOO wants to win it. I can feel it in me bones. LOL! Anyways the couple coming in third is: Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. Awww, poor Tony. Everyone is on their feet. Melissa told Samantha at break that she doesn’t care if she wins - she is just glad to be there. Dang - I so wanted this for Tony, but he always has next year. He gave his best - maybe he will do less tricks in the freestyle next time, I don’t know. LOL!

Tom said this this is the closest vote ever and there was a less than 1% difference. Dang! Cheryl is going for her third win and Mark is going for his second.  The Champions of Dancing with the Stars Season 8 is Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. Mark is SHOCKED!! Shawn screamed a little scream. Cheryl and Gilles clap in happiness for them. Mark is covering his mouth in shock not knowing what to say! Gilles says he is so happy for Shawn and Mark and thanked all the fans, his wife, and all the people that helped also stating Cheryl is one of the best things in his life.  Lacey came out and is screaming for Shawn like a little kid.  Shawn is up on Chuck Wick’s shoulders and Mark is on Derek’s. Shawn holds the trophy proudly. Go SHAWN!!!

It’s been a great season and I am sad to see it ending. Be sure to tune back in to starsdancingontv.com during the off season to always have up to date news on all you stars.

Dancing with the Stars: The Finals!

Posted By: admin On: May 19, 2009 Comments: ( 0 )

Can you believe were are at the finals already? Doesn’t it seem like it just came on? Geez - where has the time gone? Tonight there will be a Paso Doble face off and then the freestyle dance. Woohoo! Let’s hope we have some awesome freestyles tonight. Samantha is decked out in gold tonight and I can’t say it looks very flattering on her. Oh well! First impressions - Gilles looks like a matador (I’m sure all the guys will) with his shirt open. Cheryl is showing lots of tummy. Shawn is all covered and Mark Ballas is a matador with his shirt open.  Will Tony have his shirt open too?  Yes, he does. He is wearing black as is Mark. Gilles is wearing white so he can stand out I suppose. Melissa looks goth and she is wearing a long black coat with a little bikini top and panties. Wow! She has been taking lessons from Edyta I think. I always say - if you’ve got the bod - flaunt it!!

Len is in a limo to help the stars with the Paso face off. Len calls Bruno who is in a speedo (I think) by the pool. Carrie Ann is eating  salad and calls Len “Poops”. Len wants Bruno to visit Shawn to help her. Len is visiting Gilles (no suprise since that is his fave), and Carrie Ann is visiting Melissa to offer help. Shawn is up first with her Paso. Bruno wants Shawn to surprise the audience and come out like a champion. Carrie Ann visits Melissa and calls her the dark horse meaning she has to prove herself even more. Carrie Ann is SUPER TAN! She looks hot! Carrie Ann wants her to charge her and really use her body. Len wants Gilles to be less hectic in his Paso Doble. Gilles is going for a perfect 30 as he got a 29 last time. Len said that he wants him to go out there and Wow everyone b/c the expectations are already so high.

Now we get the Face Off - we will get to see all 3 couples on one stage back to back. They dance to Pink. Shawn is really fierce with her moves and looks great - got her Paso face on it. Melissa is just HOT though in her outfit and her legs - love them. She has an awesome FIERCE face on even showing her teeth. Yeah! We got some strobe lighting to add to the mood.  You can still see her ballet technique though and it looks like she got a little messed up in the steps, but I could be wrong. Gilles brings up the rear and he is looking like a true pro dancer.  I thought Gilles was the best, Shawn second, and Melissa third. They ended nicely though all in-sync! Thought they did a great job.

Len pointed out the music was contemporary and coping with that. He thought Shawn was full of excitement and pointed out her lowered chin at times. He pointed out Melissa’s slight mistake, but thought it was very convincing. Len thought Gilles was NOT hectic this time and was full on. Bruno congratulated all of them for working as a team. He thought Shawn was a great technician, Melissa was very confident calling her a bit of a drama queen (in a good way), and Gilles was a leading man. Carrie Ann said this has been her favorite season calling them all incredible dancers. She says to Shawn that every move was perfection, but wasn’t as much as an emotional connection as the others had. Carrie Ann said Melissa nailed it and was hitting hard and was proud of her. She said Gilles was perfection. Wow, lots of words all at once. I need a break. LOL!

Shawn’s scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30.  Melissa’s scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a 29 out of 30. Hmmm. Gawd, her stomach is RIPPED - I am jealous. Scores for Gilles (all 10’s?) are all 10’s for a perfect 30. No surprises here. Gilles is in the lead, but that doesn’t mean he will win. We still get to vote, ya know.

Up first in the freestyle are Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. They have all black on and are wearing white gloves. They are going to try to limit the gymnastics and show off her dancing (good idea). Guess who shows up? Apolo Anton Ono - that’s who. He’s so damn cute. He is giving Shawn pointers on what will give her the edge over her competition. All I know is - he is so cute. Apolo reminded her that there hasn’t been an Olympian who hasn’t won the show? Is that true? Wasn’t there a track star who didn’t win? I could be wrong. They are wearing sequined masks as well. Kinda scary if you ask me. LOL! Here we go with their freestyle dance. They rip off their clothes and it looks like Shawn is having issues getting hers off. They have on sequined pants and green tops. Nice trick where she slid under Mark and he jumped over her. Wow this was so much fun that I couldn’t take my eyes off it to type. It had so many tricks - Len will probably call it hectic, but man, I loved it. I was bouncing up and down to the music. Loved it!! She really let loose and had fun. Crowd is on their feet!  We’ve got lots of former DWTS competitors in the audience. Bruno said she was going for gold and it was bursting with creativity - thought she sold it and performed it. Carrie Ann called her adorable and that she lived up to everyone’s expectations of what her freestyle should be. Len loved the fun, speed, precision - he just loved it. I wasn’t expecting that from Len. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30 and Bruno yelled 11. LOL!

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani have their freestyle next. Wonder which former winner will be visiting them? Tony is wearing a muscle shirt (which is kind of hot in my opinion) and she is wearing a black sleeveless top showing her cute arms. Heck she is just cute altogether. Last time Tony was in the finals was season 2 (with Stacy Keibler) so now he is not leaving anything out. During a trick she hits in the head/eye and she brings him an ice pack. This is the most physical routine he’s ever choreographed - he wants to go out with a bang. Let’s go for it, guys! I’m anxious to see what they’ve got.  She rips off her top and shows us a little sequined bikini top. Nice tricks but I thought it was too many tricks so there was a lot of pauses to get into the tricks. I liked Shawn’s better. It was fun and she had nice hips - really let herself loose, but the overall choreography was better for Mark/Shawn. Carrie Ann loves their attitude and how they attacked it, but didn’t like it going from lift to lift as the dance felt disjointed. I couldn’t agree more. Len thought they showed her versatility - he didn’t get it - wasn’t his cup of tea. Bruno loved the running man - thought the lifts were good, but was disjointed, but wasn’t as perfect as they would have liked for a final dance. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke are up last wearing 80’s gear (Gilles ripped black sequined shirt and ripped jeans and Cheryl hot pink dress of the shoulder). Hmmm. I will be anxious to see him bust out in his freestyle.  Gilles is worried b/c of all the tricks involved. This is different since he is a guy - he needs to be the support system for Cheryl and the girls kind of have it easy. He is experiencing shoulder problems and has a doctor come in to assist. He’s had the shoulder problems since the beginning and now that he is lifting a lot here it is coming back to haunt him. They dance to Flashdance theme. Cheryl starts in a chair - they are so sexy together. There’s lots of dancing as compared to lifts which is good. They went by the judges table and did flashdance moves pointing at them just like it is done in the movie. It was very cute and fun. I thought Shawn’s was MORE fun, but still good. I’m sure the judges will like it b/c of the dancing. Len thought it was high energy, loved the slow start on the stage, calling Gilles a real dancer. Bruno said it was a great performance and wanted MORE dancing from them. WHAT? I saw lots of dancing. Carrie Ann agreed and felt it was an odd choice b/c it is about the female dancer - she wanted to see lots more from him. She did say he was amazing though and didn’t want to take anything away from him. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Len for a 28 out of 30.

Leaderboard:

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 58 out of 60

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 58 out of 60

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 56 out of 60

All three couples will dance one more time tomorrow for more judges scores to add to our scores and the judges from tonight - so the winner will still be up in the air tomorrow night. Let’s vote guys - now is the time to vote for your favorite dancer.  Who do I think will win? Hmm…I think it will come down to Shawn and Gilles. But Melissa’s supporters are huge and she could be the dark horse winning this all. Should she? Not my first choice. I like Shawn the best and have liked her from the beginning, but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Gilles won - he deserves it. I think this is the first time I like all three finalists and wouldn’t mind if either won. What are your thoughts?

What is it with Samantha’s low cut dresses this week? Dang, girlfriend! Anyways, we start off with live entertainment of a Grammy award winner and I have no idea who it is nor have I heard this song before. I’m sorry, but I had to fast forward. I am watching this recorded because I had to watch the Biggest Loser finale. Anyways I think the judges have been favoring Gilles this entire competition and well is it fair or not? You tell me!

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are back dancing the Argentine Tango. I’m not sure if this is the judges encore dance or what?? The judges didn’t announce it, but Tom said this dance got one of the biggest audience reactions last night so I guess that is why we are seeing it again.  They did awesome again.

Helio’s baaaack!! He talks about the final four among other past winners Drew Lachey and Brooke Burke. Helio thinks Melissa is hot. Helio says Gilles reminds him of himself. LOL! All winners agree that Ty is all about determination.

The 2 pro dancers that are left are Mayo and Anna. Mayo is dancing with Kym Johnson and they are up first. They are dancing the Cha Cha and Tango. Looks like they’ve got some difficult moves and if they pull it off he could win this thing. They have the Tango first. I love how his shoes match his pants. I think they did well. He did great with the facials. Len loved it. Bruno loves the lines and frame. Carrie Ann is impressed with his choreography, but wanted to see more of his personality.

Anna is up now dancing with Maksim Chmirkovskiy. They have Samba and Quickstep and she has to choreograph him. We all know he is difficult and particular so we will see how this works out. I think she has a tall order to fill b/c Maks is her partner. They have Quickstep first. Wow this is fast and near misses with the stage and judges table. Lot of footwork and again VERY fast! Mayo has some fierce competition with Anna and Maks. Bruno loved how they performed and sold it. Carrie Ann thought she out shined Maks by a hair and loved it. Len loved the elegance and maturity and thought she brought the best out in Maks.

We get to see who America chose for the America’s Choice - remember we get to pick the song, costumes and dancers. There are four people out here though so i don’t get it. Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Julianne Hough and Lacey Schwimmer. I though it was only 2 dancers. I guess it is four this time instead of 2. Yep, we chose 4 dancers this time. Good for them.

Mayo and Kym are back doing their Cha Cha Cha. Mayo looks like he belongs out of Saturday Night Fever. I thought it was great and he did shake his groove thing. Good job Mayo! I think either one will be an asset to the show. Carrie Ann said it takes more than being a great dancer and wonders if he will be versatile enough. Len thought it lacked a bit of Wow, but thought it was well done. Bruno thought he is better in ballroom, and told him to be careful taking risks, and he should have done a proper Cha Cha Cha. Hmmm.

Anna and Maks are doing their Samba. Wow this dance is fast too. Wow this was GREAT and she had some solo work in there while Maks stood in the corner and watched. LOL! She is very animated and would make a great addition to the show. Len thought from week 1 until tonight she’s been a contender and if she isn’t back as the new pro he will show his bum in the supermarket. Tom told the shoppers to beware. LOL! Bruno said she was a stunner in both rounds. Carrie Ann wants to see more of her and wants her to come back.

Now we get what we’ve all been waiting for - who is safe…at least 2 couples will be told to us right now. They are Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke as well as Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. That leaves Ty Murray and Melissa Rycroft. No surprises here. So who is leaving us tonight? Tony looks like he is praying to the Gods and Melissa looks like she is teary eyed although I think it is her makeup. Leaving us tonight is Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower. I thought it was time, but his cute smile will be missed.

That leaves us with the final three of Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft, and Gilles Marini. Who will win it all? Will Tony get his first win? Will Cheryl get her third? Or will Mark take it for a second time. Tune in next week to find out!

Dancing with the Stars wk. 10

We’re down to our final four: Ty Murray, Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft, and Gilles Marini. But first Louis Van Amstel is back dancing with his gang to start us off. I was unclear when I read his MySpace blog about whether he choreographed this or not. Dmitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower, Karina Smirnoff, Alec Mazo and an unknown blonde girl are also dancing with Louis. They dance to “Should I Stay Or Should I Go.”

Samantha is wearing a VERY low cut gown with some type of circular design on it. I’m not digging it. Now first impressions: Gilles is wearing a gray suit with white satin tie and hair slicked back. Cheryl is wearing a white sequined/beaded gown and hair pulled up and back. They are both looking very suave. Ty Murry has on a tux with white bow tie and Chelsie is wearing the outfit she just danced in which I’m guessing isn’t the one she will dance in with Ty. She looks hot none-the-less. Mark Ballas is wearing a black suit with awesome purple satin tie and Shawn has her hair pulled back wearing a purple/black number. She looks very sophisticated and old tonight. Melissa is wearing a black and white sleeveless number with lots of sequins and Tony a suit without the jacket and black bands around his upper arms. Everyone looks really nice tonight. Mark Ballas looks like he is sportin’ some guyliner aka eyeliner for guys. Perhaps it is his hat casting a shadow on his eyes. I’m not sure - no, it sure looks like guyliner.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani take us back to week 3 and talk through their foxtrot which they feel is their breakthrough dance. So we get recapping and them talking about it. Now they switch gears and talk about their Samba. Tonight they are dancing Cha Cha.

Now Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke give their commentary. They also talk about their foxtrot. And finally they talk about their Paso Doble. Tonight they have the Waltz.

Next couple to discuss their 2 favorite dances are Shawn and Mark. They choose the Quickstep as their breakthrough ballroom dance and the Paso Doble as their breakthrough Latin dance. Tonight they dance the Argentine Tango.

And finally Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower discuss their breakthrough ballroom dance of Quickstep from week 2 and their breakthrough Latin dance of Lindy Hop.

And are we gonna finally get some dancing tonight? It is already 30 min in and all we’ve got is recaps. Anyways, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are up first dancing the Cha Cha Cha. They also have the Quickstep tonight as well. We get to see them practicing both. They focus a lot on her footwork especially the heel leads. They have the Quickstep first. They have really nice footwork, but it isn’t too quick to me. The music isn’t very fast either which I can understand why they aren’t dancing very fast either. Their ending was great with the swinging tricks. I thought it was very cute and well done - not your typical Quickstep. Len starts us off - loved phrasing, musicality, feet much improved, thought the whole thing was a delight. Bruno thought it was good, but wasn’t as exhilarating as it could be. Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno - very  nice and pretty, but didn’t feel like it was connected to her soul. She also had problems with the space in their hold. I agree with Bruno and CA - seemed like something was missing. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Len for a 28 out of 30.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke are waltzing next. Cheryl brings in Jonathon Roberts to help Gilles with the classiness. Gilles is sitting on a chair and Cheryl floats over to him. She has feathers at the bottom of her dress. Gilles looks like a gentleman - a skinny gentleman in that suit. They had nice rise and fall and glided nicely and elegantly. It was nice, but wasn’t exhilarating either in my opinion. Just nice. Bruno loved it as he is up screaming his critique. I take it he loved it. Carrie Ann thought it was breath taking. Len is giving him a sitting down standing-o. Wow - wasn’t THAT great. I bet he gets all 10’s. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30. Gilles is crying and states he loves dancing with Cheryl and wanted those perfect 10’s for her.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are dancing the Argentine Tango first. They also have the jive. They are doing a trick in the tango that she is fearful of as far as when to jump and when to not jump which further adds to the suspense of it all. They are very precise in their movements and she has on her Paso Doble angry face. They did the lift like a pro and there was no jumping unless that was a different lift. Loved all the lifts and her character. I loved the footwork and the preciseness of it all - it was pretty intense. Carrie Ann thought she delivered! She loved the precision. Len thought this was a fantastic semi-final - honestly was her best performance according to Len. Bruno called her Catherine Zita Shawn - he loved it! Scores were al 10’s for a perfect 30. They are happy!

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower are pulling up the rear with the Samba (Ty refers to it as a “pain in the ass with a whole lot of steps in it”), but first they have the Viennese Waltz. Chelsie has on turquoise by the way with white at the top. Ty is excellent in ballroom - he has nice rise and fall, lines, arms, hold - that is where he is best. Sadly though one has to be good in Latin as well which that isn’t his forte. Bruno is leaning over the judges table to check out the footwork. I’m surprised Len isn’t doing that.  The audience is up on the their feet and Jewel salutes - guess she liked it. Len said that he doesn’t think anyone has worked harder, struggled harder, or tried as hard as him. Len thought he has worked so hard - pointed out the little issues, but thought it was fabulous overall. Bruno thought it should be smooth and effortless and he thought it was like chasing flies. Len HIGHLY disagrees and tells Bruno so! Carrie Ann loves how he gets the whole room to support him - but she said he struggled on the turns. Len is arguing again with both of them especially Bruno. Len is NOT happy. Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Len for a 25 out of 30.

Ballroom Round Leaderboard:

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 30 out of 30

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 30 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 28 out of 30

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 25 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are doing their final dance of cha cha cha. We take a trip to Dallas, Tx where Melissa grew up. Melissa’s family are finally seen (they didn’t want to be on the Bachelor) and they talk about how she is persistent. We get to see more Bachelor stuff and Melissa’s heartbreak. She talks about how she went from her lowest point in her life to her highest. I love Melissa’s story and spirit.  They both start out with some cute hats and they continue to wear them all throughout. I thought they were so cute in this dance. Nice hips - but again something did seem a bit missing again tonight. perhaps it is nerves. Bruno thought at moments she were sensational and said she didn’t sustain it at all times. Carrie Ann thought she was more emotional this dance, but the size of her steps seemed unsure. Len didn’t think it was up to the standard of her Samba, but he still liked it. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke have the Salsa as their last dance. First we go to Cannes in France. We get an interview with a guy who speaks French and I was so into listening to him speak French that I totally didn’t even see who was talking about him - could be brother??  They are decked out in purple and his pants don’t really match in my opinion. He does have nice hips though. He is definitely having fun and not over thinking the dance. I liked it - fun and cute! Tom loved it and so did the audience. Carrie Ann is up on her feet dancing around making strange noises. Carrie Ann sad that was Gilles Marini at his best and wants him in the finals. Len is almost speechless and wishes he had an 11 paddle. Bruno said something about something is hiding in Gilles pants. Bruno thinks he deserves to be in the finals. All 10’s? - yes!

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are dancing third. They have the jive which should be fun We see baby pictures of Shawn as well as old videos of her doing gymnastics.  They have on polka dots and Mark looks like he is going through high water or borrowed his pants and socks from Michael Jackson. This was high energy, not sure how she kept up, but they ended up on the judges table holding 3 10’s. She is sportin’ pigtails which are so darn cute. Len commended the band for the great music! Len thought it was fast - liked the feeling of it, but thought there was too much messing about dancing going on, wanted to see more traditional jive. Bruno liked her when she goes wild and they sold it 110%. Carrie Ann thought they lost a little steam, but thought it was still a wonderful performance. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from STINGY Len for a 26 out of 30.

Last up for tonight is Ty Murray dancing the Samba which is more than likely not going to be his dance. We see Ty’s parents, Butch and Joy. Ty was a cute little boy - the audience is awwing and clapping.  Jewel talks him up really good about how he is so determined. He is in all black and Chelsie is in pink, yellow, and turquoise. He starts by playing drums or bells on her bum. He is off on his steps. Anytime he is close to Chelsie - he does well. They do a close-up of his shaking rear. LOL! He tries to shake his upper body and it is so stiff, but man you have to give him props for trying and looking as cute as he does. Bruno said he has determination and resilience - he points out the footing loss. Carrie Ann votes her most valuable player of season 8 - points out his hard work and determination. Len calls him Arthur Murray in ballroom, but in Latin dances he is Murray in a hurry. Len commends Chelsie for doing a fantastic job with Ty. I agree! Scores were 2 8’s and a 7 from Len for a 23 out of 30.

Latin Round Leaderboard:

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 30 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 27 out of 30

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 26 out of 30

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 23 out of 30

Final Leaderboard:

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 60 out of 60

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 56 out of 60

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 55 out of 60

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 48 out of 60

Well I think Ty might be in trouble this week and might not make it to the finals - which is fine. He rode the wave as long as he could. As far as I’m concerned the three best dancers are left: Gilles, Shawn, and Melissa. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Who goes tonight? Will Ty and Lil’ Kim be in the bottom two like I predicted? Will Ty stay? We’ll find out tonight, won’t we? Wonder who has the encore dance? Melissa and Tony that’s who - they are dancing their perfect scoring Samba from last night. Let’s enjoy!

Ty said in his backstage confessional that when he swung his hips at Jewel that “Mommy liked.” LMAO! He’s so cute AND funny.  Yay we are going to get Dance Center tonight. You ask and you shall receive, right? I love Dance Center and my main man Kenny.

Up next is Jamie Collum (sp?) singing “I get a kick out of you.” Let’s hope we get professionals dancing or else I am fast forwarding b/c all he did was just trample on a piano and I did not like that. I don’t know who the professionals were so I just chatted with my friend on Facebook while that was going on. Now Dance Center…They are roasting Ty stating he is being rewarding for poor performance and Jerry says he likes him b/c he gives 110% and Kenny said there is no 110% it stops at 100. LOL! Kenny is wearing bling on the side of his face. Jerry is wearing a sequined vest with no shirt underneath and a bow tie. LOL!  I love how Kenny interrupts Len and turns to Jerry and starts asking him questions. At one point Kenny says “We don’t give a damn” and told Len “No One Cares”. They pointed out Mark Ballas face and Len said he looks like a Chipmunk and to tell you the truth he does. LOL!

We’re back and it is time to find out some safe couples. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke are safe. Now more dance center. They are ripping Tony Dovolani stating he is being really mean to Melissa. LMAO! They point out him mocking her injury. Jerry says his favorite dance was last week when she wore her little bra and jeans. It was kind of sexy. Len was appalled. haha! Kenny is ripping on Gilles body and then we see them all sitting there with their shirts off including Len. Len has a fake tattoo on his chest. Kenny is so white and Len is actually tan. LMAO! I love Dance Center! Don’t you?

Now Macy’s dancer dancing to Coldplay. There is a huge Macy star in the middle and they are dancing all over the dang thing. Yawn on the Macy’s dance. Let’s get to the results shall we? Oh Lord, we get back from commercial and Samantha is shaking her boobies and they won’t stop. GAG!

Now we have the new professonal competition. First up is Afton Del Grosso and Cody Linley. They are dancing the Samba. This song is horrid how they are singing it. Ick. Cody looks good..she’s good with him I thought. Had all the basic Samba moves. Seems like Cody remembered his Julianne training days. Len thought Afton did well with teaching him. Bruno liked it. Carrie Ann loved seeing Cody back saying he’s cute and she thought Afton turned it up a notch.

Oh no controversy - they had the wrong number up for Afton and Tom gave it out verbally and they did not put it on the screen. If she loses they can attribute it to the wrong number. Not a good situation to be in, Afton.

Next safe couple is Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani..woohoo!

Next pro couple is Mayo and Lisa Rinna. Wow she is short and they are doing the Quickstep. Lisa looks hot with a hot bod, but it seems like she has had more work done on her face. Why? Ick! She did a trick some type of cartwheel and she almost bit it. I just love her abs - so sexy. I didn’t think it was AS good as Afton and Cody, but still pretty good. Her hubby caught the dress that Mayo tore off the bottom of her costume. Bruno loved how Mayo accented her assets. Carrie Ann thought they just lost a little of the control. Len thought they pushed the boundaries and that is what they needed to do. Harry Hamlin, her hubby seemed to like it.

Finally Anna and Maurice Greene are up dancing the Tango. He picked it because he has never done it before and he wants to test her teaching skills. Maurice says she is “No Cheryl.” Maurice is smart for picking a dance he’s never done before. I like it! She needs to be tested and not have it easy. I think Anna’s dress is too long to see her footwork and the intricate leg work that the tango has in it. I thought they did great! Great job!! Carrie Ann is wooohooing them and said they looked great together. Len thought she brought the most out of her celebrity. Bruno called her a miracle worker saying he has never looked better. Wow - slam that Cheryl Burke - slam her, Bruno! What do I care?

More results…next safe couple is Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. The bottom two are Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough as well as Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower. No surprise there. I did call it, ya know! LOL!

Leaving us tonight is… Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough! WOOHOO! I know I am being mean, but I just didn’t like her personality. I love Ty’s personality. The crowd is booing. I’m not. haha! Tom pointed out the shock in the room and he said “he loved watching her dance.” Wow! Derek tells her how much he loves her and she’s been one of his favorites. Guess you can’t defend your title now, can ya, Derek? I need to stop being so mean. Anyways - I’ll see ya next week when we are in the semi-finals.

Dancing with the Stars wk. 9

The celebrities have to do two complete dances this week and even have their own solo in the Latin round. Wow, competition is getting fierce. Not sure how Ty will hold up with two dances. This could be his undoing, but we shall see. We start off with a group dance which I read was choreographed by Louis Van Amstel. He is also dancing along with Jonathon Roberts, Dmitry Chaplin, Kym Johnson, Lacey Schwimer, and some lady who I can’t tell who it is. Louis wrote about this on his blog on Myspace. Samantha is wearing hot pink and hot it is NOT, but her hair looks good. First impressons…

Lil’ Kim just looks peachy in her dress. I can’t tell if their are flowers on her dress or just what that is. Derek is wearing a long sleeved yellowish silk shirt with matching tie and a black sleeveless vest over the top of it. Gilles Marini is wearing an all black suit with red tie poking out. Cheryl is wearing animal print with red trim and red gloves. Ty Murray is in all black including tie. Chelsie looks stunning in a short dress. Shawn Johnson is in turquoise and her dress is just flowing and her patner Mark is in a black suit with matching tie. Melissa Rycroft looks like she is wearing white and Tony looks so cute tonight with slicked back hair. He looks so happy to have his partner back. Can you believe there are only 5 couples left? I can’t. ahhh!

The judges are breaking it down for us on what they are looking for when they watch each dance. Looks like each couple has a different dance tonight so we will have lots of variety.

Anyways, Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are up first doing their Quickstep.  Shawn said that getting 8’s just doesn’t cut it anymore and she is right. She is having issues with the speed and technique. Mark seems frustrated with her. She is freaking out and so they stop to let her catch her breath in practice - she could have been crying too we couldn’t tell b/c Mark was standing in the way. She is really keeping up with the footwork and gliding across the floor. This footwork is complicated and she did wonderfully and looked like she had loads of fun. I know I did! WOW! LOVED IT! Let’s see if the judges did - the crowd loved it! Len thought it was fun, joyful, carefree, and we really saw her personality this time…BUT didn’t like how they broke hold a lot of the time as they should be in hold all throughout ‘cept the beginning and end. Bruno thought she danced like sporty spice, loved the footwork and delivery. Carrie Ann thought it was her best dancer ever, but she has to take a point off b/c they broke the rules. Rules Schmules - she gets all 10’s in my book. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Up next is Ty Murray and his partner Chelsie Hightower. They have the Argentine Tango and Ty likes it b/c it is strong, serious, gets to hang on the Chelsie and he gets to do lifts. Those were his words not mine. LOL! He videos it and keeps watching it. Chelsie interrupts him asking if he is going to come to bed and he tells her he will be there in a minute. I want to know why they are sleeping in the same place. Weird! Anyways, here we go… They start off being very precise and he gets a bit off in his kicks meaning timing wise. The lift looked really hard having to walk backwards and hold Chelsie, but he mustered it. It seemed a bit slow and planned out, but I’ll give him props for hanging in there this long. It wasn’t terrible, but not that great either. Bruno said he won’t let anyone down with his strength and determination - he thinks the dance needed more subtlety and smoothness. Carrie Ann commended him from coming so far and pointed out the missteps and stiffness. Len thought he captured the flavor and essence of the dance and thought it was his best dance. Len also said that Bruno’s comments are the reason why he’s on medication. LOL! Funny how Len sees things totally different. I agree with Carrie Ann and Bruno. Could it be b/c we are of the younger generation? Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Len for a 25 out of 30.

Li’ Kim and Derek Hough are dancing the waltz. Kim is rushing through the waltz and wants to break out, sadly she can’t b/c it is the waltz. The hold looks good and she is gliding elegantly. She did a nice spinning move on one leg and ended how she started on her big bum with her head down. Pretty good - it wasn’t breath taking by any means, but good. Carrie Ann said her hands need to be extended and she pointed out missteps like the floor was sticky tonight. Funny I didn’t see the missteps. Len agreed with Carrie Ann, but also shocked at the quality of the dance she produced. Tom doesn’t know who Len is anymore. Bruno blamed it on the medication. LOL! Bruno thought she is more comfortable being a tramp instead of a lady. He of course means it in the best way. LOL! Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Len for a 25 out of 30.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke have the foxtrot this week. She is getting on him b/c he wants to do Samba moves. They go to a ballroom championship to see people in action. Let’s hope it helps him. They have a cool song to dance to “Fever”. He looks smooth. He really looks like a pro. They look hot together! He goes over and blows a kiss to Carrie Ann. Better watch out, Cheryl is the jealous type. LOL! It was hot yet classic and elegant. I liked it - held my attention. Len said he wasn’t heartless, but a kind person (this doesn’t sound too good)…Len said he can’t help but enjoy that performance. He pointed out that Gilles legs weren’t straight enough. Bruno thought the performance was in a class of its own - very cool, but very hot. Carrie Ann thought Len was crazy and thinks Gilles is a shoe-in for the finals. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a 29 out of 30.

Last dance of the ballroom round is Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani dancing the Viennese Waltz. She still has her injury, but it is manageable. She starts off with a spinning move that is stunning. This looks effortless for her. It was beautiful especially her last move. She flowed like an Angel and that happened to be the name of the song. Bruno said she was lighter than air and beautiful and romantic. Carrie Ann agrees with Bruno, but she needs to work on something with the upper body b/c something is missing. Len is still not a big fan of her feet, but loves the rest of her. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Leaderboard after Ballroom Round:

Gilles Marini and Chery Burke 29 out of 30
Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 27 out of 30
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 27 out of 30
Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 25 out of 30
Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 25 out of 30

Final three competitors in the pro dance off are Afton Del Grosso and she will be partnered with previous “star” Cody Lindley. Also left in the pro competition is Anna (don’t know how to spell her last name and too lazy to look it up) partnered with Maurice Greene. Finally Mayo partnered with Lisa Rinna.  If you figured it out and are a sharp tool in the shed, you’ll know that Genya Mazo was eliminated last week. This week they will teach a star to dance just like the real thing. Now that’s what I call good practice for the professionals.

Now we get the pros doing a latin dance choreographed by Louis Van Amstel. The same dancers are dancing and I’m going to try to find out who that other woman is - Anna Trebunskaya perhaps? She’s Jonathon’s wife so I’m not surprised if it is her.  Someone tell me why Dmitry’s shirt always has to be open? I think he has problems with his image. Good job, Louis! Be proud! That kicks off the latin round - let’s get this show on the road.

First up in the Latin round is Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas doing the Paso Doble. Don’t forget the stars have a solo.  They dance to “Gotta Get Through This” by Daniel Bedingfield. Her lines are tight and sharp.  She has her gymnast face on (serious if you don’t get what I mean). I am loving this!! Very powerful and sharp! The crowd is screaming, clapping and loving this. Her solo was the beginning and was GREAT! Lots of stomping and sharp hand movements. EXCELLENT! LOVED IT! Everyone is on their feet just as predicted. Judges are clapping too. Carrie Ann said the song was difficult to do and she nailed it! Len liked the solo part and the twist turns - clean - precise and great footwork. It wasn’t over exciting for him. WTH? He is NUTS tonight! Bruno said tonight she showed us that she the killer instinct and she scored big. She ran and gave him a big hug…then she hugged Len and Carrie Ann. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from Nutzoid Len for a 29 out of 30.

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower have the Rumba this round. Latin is not Ty’s forte’ so we’ll see how it goes for him. Chelsie says that Gilles is also doing the Rumba so they will be compared to him. They dance to “Free Falling” by Tom Petty. He is trying to get those hips a-going. Looks a bit stiff, but it will do - he’s cute doing it. He seems more fluid tonight than any other Latin round. Here he goes with the solo and he goes over to his wife and shakes his hips - he then pulls her up and kisses her. It was cute! Len thought it had charm and was sweet at the end, but said he was a peacock in the first dance and now he’s a feather duster. Boo on you, Len! Bruno said he is one of the most likable contestants they’ve ever had and not to confuse that with ability. Carrie Ann which she could score him for they way he’s improved and how he lights up a room and said it was a still little wooden. She also pointed out the lift. I knew she would. Ty hopes the hip thing will pay dividends later with Jewel - haha! Chelsie said the hip thing was his idea. Jewel fanned herself. Soooo cute! Scores were all 7’s for a 21 out of 30.

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough are doing the Salsa this week. Kim is looking forward to this so she can “shake it like a pepper shaker.” She is going to bring the bionic booty tonight. She is a little off in the timing, but redeemed herself by doing a trick that looked she was going to fall on top of Derek - he caught her. She shook her stuff in the solo and even did the splits. Wow they did an awesome trick and it looked like Derek was going to kick her in the face. It was pretty cool. Bruno sang to her - he likes it when she gets down and dirty, but pointed out the wrong step at the beginning. Carrie Ann said she has never seen a booty shake like that. She said it was good, but a little out of control. Len thought it was delicious, but said some control was lost. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Next up is Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke dancing the Rumba. Gilles can’t wait to show that Latin lover that is deep inside. Ok, let’s see it. He is starting it off with a sheer turquoise shirt and we can see his torso through it - he’s pretty ripped. He starts off with his solo and he is on Fir-eh! They dance to “Sexual Healing.” He is smooth and has nice hips..very suave. They get down on the floor and roll around and it is hot stuff! Crowd loves it - not sure how his wife likes that ending with his lips to Cheryl’s lips. Carrie Ann said this is the most highly anticipated Rumba and he delivered it. She did find the beginning a bit odd (the solo) and self indulgent and over the top. Len thought it looked fantastic here, but didn’t like his moonwalk at the beginning and didn’t like the rolling across the floor at the end. haha! Bruno said it was a bit uneven by his usual standards, but still pretty good. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Last up tonight is Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani dancing the Samba. She starts with her solo too and really shakes her stuff. She’s so cute!  Her tummy is RIPPED! They bounced, had fun, and she shook her stuff. It was fun to watch. She ended on the judges table. Len thinks she belongs in the finals. Bruno thought her Samba has everything anyone could possibly want. Carrie Ann feels like she has to point out the flaws b/c the competition is so fierce - she says take the week off - flawless. You sneaky dog, Carrie Ann. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30. Yayy for her! Tony is so excited and so am I! He said he hasn’t seen that since season 2 when he danced with the blond bombshell, Stacy Keibler.

Leaderboard after Latin Round:

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 30 out of 30
Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 29 out of 30
Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 27 out of 30
Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 27 out of 30
Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 21 out of 30

Final Leaderboard:

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 59 out of 60
Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 56 out of 60
Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 56 out of 60
Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 52 out of 60
Ty Murray and Chelsie Highwoer 46 out of 60

I think Lil’ Kim and Ty Murray will be the bottom two and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Ty has more fans than Kim does and he stays. Old ladies - get those fingers a dialing and clicking on the mouse and vote vote vote!

Samantha looks smashing tonight in purple. I am actually digging her dress and hair. I think wardrobe liked her this week. Tom said tonight will be the most dramatic elimination so far. Anyways, the judges picked the encore dance of Team Tango. Oh joy! Was I the only one who liked Team Mambo? Apparently so. We have recaps and backstage confessionals. They ended with poor Tony stating he was very nervous and hoped he will pull through. He still looked like a beaten down dog.

Now we get a cheesy taped package about the “offers that have come in for these stars.” There is some guy singing trying to make it funny. I just rolled my eyes and so did my fiance.

Our special guest tonight is Robin Thicke. I don’t know who this guy is and I’m not sure if I really care. The crowd roars and that is because our pros of Cheryl Burke, Edyta Sliwinska and Kym Johnson. They all have yellow dresses on all different styles. The men are also out wearing yellow tops and black pants. The men are Dmitry Chaplin, Alec Mazo, and Tony Dovolani. I feel so sorry for Tony. I think he feels he could win it this season with Melissa and to have this happen - he looks a bit devastated. I just hope the voters pulled them through. Yes, she was hurt and couldn’t dance, but she deserves to be in the competition.

First safe couple is Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough. Next safe couple is Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower. Wow - who will be in the bottom 2 tonight? More celebrity endorsements..this one is called Dance Match featuring Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks with Melissa Rycroft as the spokesperson. I suppose it was kind of cute. I do miss Dance Center though. They better be bringing that back here shortly.

Robin Thicke is back again. Here comes Anna and Pascha from So You Think You Can Dance.

Next safe couple is Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke. Mark Ballas looks a little on edge and possibly pissed. He is left along with partner Shawn, Melissa Rycroft and Chuck Wicks.

Now we see another “paid commercial” where all the professionals are putting disco balls in front of their private parts. Cheryl had two big ones in front of her ta tas. Tony Dovolani had a small one in front of his package and Derek Hough had a HUGE one in front of his. It was pretty funny actually. They all have nice bodies that is for sure.

Genya Mazo and Afton Del Grosso are back to be the next new pro. They have the quickstep this week. This quickstep is lovely and very in sync. I really liked it and so did the judges. We will now have to vote again and whoever has the most votes between the 4 they brought back tonight wins and will be the next pro for next season.

Next up are Mayo Alanen and Anna Demidova. They are dancing the jive. Both dancers are very tall and this jive could look really good if they do it right. This looks awesome with their long legs. I thought Mayo rocked this one!! Carrie Ann was shocked with Mayo’s performance as he really rocked it. All the judges liked it of course. They really liked Mayo too.

More results…next safe couple is Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. He picks her up and kisses her back. He looked absolutely relieved. So the bottom 2 tonight is Chuck/Julianne and Melissa/Tony. I don’t want either to go home really.

Leaving us tonight is Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough. Melissa Rycroft is safe for this week. Melissa is crying…and Chuck blamed the team dance. haha! I hate to see him go, but I really didn’t think he could win it all. I just didn’t. See ya next week!

Dancing with the Stars wk. 8

Tonight we have team dance. I’m interested in seeing just who is on a team together. Ty really needs to be on with Gilles and either Shawn or Lil’ Kim and again he will need to step it up this week or he will be a goner. Anyways, first impressions: Gilles and Cheryl look like clowns. Ty Murray looks hot in brown silk and Chelsie in gold. Lil’ Kim and Derek are decked out in black. Lil’ literally has it all the way up to her neck and long sleeves. Chuck and Julianne have royal blue on and I do believe he has on silk again as I’m sure it gave him luck last week.  Shawn Johnson has on blue fringe and Mark’s tie matches with a black suit. And Melissa Rycroft is missing. WTH? Where is she? Tom is explaining that Melissa suffered an injury this week and isn’t with us. He will tell us more details later. I guess since Tony is there they will be judged on their practice maybe.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke are up first dancing the Lindy Hop. No wonder he is dressed like a clown. Gilles is having shoulder problems and had to see the doctor. He received a cortizone shot and he is back to new. In practice Cheryl is getting mean b/c she keeps getting injured. They are doing lots of lifts and flips and that just isn’t working for Cheryl. We’ll see if it all came together. They play on the stairs and he jumps off the middle ones. He looks like he is off on his steps and his timing was a bit off in the beginning. Her flip turned out ok, but it seemed like he stalled for a bit. The transitions b/w moves weren’t smooth and seamless. It really didn’t feel like a smooth Gilles performance in my opinion. Len thought it was good (hmmm?). Bruno said he was a great dancer with versatility - he liked seeing the comedy and pointed out a little mis-step. Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno and loved this other side of Gilles and doesn’t think he has to worry about the audience at home voting for him. Hmmm…was I the only one who didn’t think it was THAT good? Maybe I have turned into critical Len. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough are up second dancing the Paso Doble. She is doing embarrassing moves in practice. I think they are embarrASSing, but she doesn’t apparently. She needs to give up the karate chops and do the Paso. They are starting out very powerfully which is perfect for this dance. She is right on point with her steps. Bruno was up clapping several times and the audience was clapping/screaming throughout. It was good. They seemed pleased. Bruno said “the bitch is back and she means business”. I think he said bitch?? He said it was a classic Paso - well done. Carrie Ann thought it was a great showcase for her and it showed us how much she had grown. Len thought it was going to be a disaster, but she came out with fire and passion. She goes and gives Len a kiss on the cheek and ends up giving them all kisses. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30.

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough dance the (they are playing backstage and she looks like she is slapping him and then kneeing him in the “package”  LOL!) cha cha cha. There is a lot of Julianne turning while he poses and that bores me. My fiance just yelled out “boring” and he thought he was too slow compared to her. I thought it was alright. Their dance last week was better I thought. Julianne thought it was the bomb. Carrie Ann thought he is now in the game and loved his hips. She told him to watch his chin. Len thinks this is turning into a fantastic competition. He loved the hips, but told him to work on his arms as they are wooden. Bruno thought he had great bum action, but thought his arms were too wooden. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from Bruno for a 26 out of 30.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are up next dancing the Samba. Mark brings in his Mom so Shawn can see the feminine parts. They have a lot of bounce in their step. It seemed a bit controlled to me and I didn’t really like the choreography or something. It was just not THAT great…good but not great. Len said it lacked hip action, the dress was doing most of the work, too many running promenades and thought it was just good - not great. Bruno thought it was a good Samba and thought she has time to grow into it. Carrie Ann said she thought it was wonderful and loved the “sexy thing” Shawn was getting on. Scores were 1 10 from CA, 8 from Len, and a 9 from Bruno for a 27 out of 30. Not worth a 10 - hmmm.

Tom said Melissa suffered a rib injury and will be able to continue according to the doctors. We are going to look at her practices and see what is going on. They have the jive this week. She did a move and she experienced a blinding pain down her side. The doctor thinks it is a hairline fracture. The only thing Tony can’t do is throw her in the air. Melissa was able to rehearse this AM and the pain progressed - but the judges will be able to judge her on the rehearsal. She is wearing a little bra, jeans, and her dance shoes. Cute! It was very upbeat, but of course they aren’t putting it all there b/c it is practice and she had to stop and pull her jeans up. Of course it wasn’t professional at all, but what can you do? Bruno thought it was 50% effectiveness of a dance - kicks/flicks weren’t that great. Carrie Ann says they were marking meaning they weren’t going full out b/c there were no audience. Len said the arms were too soft and there was no bounce. Poor Tony looks like a beaten down dog. I hope America can pull them through this week - VOTE!!! Scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower have the Salsa this week. Latin is not Ty’s forte so he needs to rev it up this week. Dmitry is brought in to help out to show him the sexy-ness. Dmitry also thinks he needs to open his shirt and get a spray tan. We see Ty with a shower cap on getting spray tanned. This is edited for TV b/c they usually have to be all naked while they get spray tanned. Ty thinks the spray tan alone is worth a 7 at least. Me too! hehe! He is really hitting the steps hard tonight and letting loose. I just don’t see much hips from him as it doesn’t look like it was choreographed with much hips for him. Chelsie it seemed was the star of the dance in my opinion. Tom liked it though and so did Jewel who looked like an 80’s “hag” in the audience. Hag was my Fiance’s word for it. Carrie Ann loved it and said he is the most inconsistent dancer and never knows what to expect. She loved his upper body strength. Len said he has had the wildest of rides just like bull riding - he’s hung on for 8 weeks. Len said unless he comes out and really performs in the group tango - he needs to hit the trail. Boo Len! Bruno said he just went wild - perhaps it was the spray tan. Bruno enjoyed watching it, but thought the hip action came from the knees, but he seemed to still like it. Carrie Ann gave a 9, Len a 7, and Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 out of 30.

Group dance time: Team Mambo and Team Tango.

Team Mambo consists of Chuck Wicks, Melissa Rycroft, and Shawn Johnson. I’m not sure how Melissa is going to get judged on this. I guess the judges will judge Tony and that will count. Who knows? Here we go - Lacey Schwimmer is filling in for Melissa. Tom explained that Melissa will receive the same score as her teammates. That’s nice. They dance to Beyonce. Lacey and Tony were hot - would have loved to see Melissa. Shawn is always right on point with the music and never misses a step. I am liking their solo so far. Chuck and Julianne are up next and CA is right - he does have a chin problem. LOL! The guys remove the girls skirts and then they are standing up on the judges table stripping as well. The guys have on tights with white pantyhose, black socks and shoes. They look like they belong in Flashdance. That was soooo hilarious and cute. I loved Team Mambo! Len thought it was fun, entertaining, it was tight - Len loved the professionals and thought it was great that Lacey just stepped in like that. Bruno thought the boys stood out tonight and they are all hiding their packages. Carrie Ann thought the ending was distracting and a little much - she thought the music overpowered them stating it was more fun then they had in their number. WHATEVER CARRIE ANN! She’s been weird all night long. Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Bruno for a 25 out of 30.

Team Tango consists of Ty Murray, Lil’ Kim and Gilles Marini. Cheryl is really laying into Gilles. This is EXACTLY what she did with Drew and they won it. Lil’ Kim and Derek are arguing too b/c of the pressure. Hmmm… here we go. Audience is screaming up a storm already. They dance to “Womanizer.” Ty and Gilles have their shirts off. Kim looks a little loose and not as strong as she needs to be in her solo. She missed a step as well. Here comes Ty with a jacket on now. He has got his stern face on and is keeping great hold. I think the music is very slow and needs to be sped up. Lil’ Kim and Derek’s solo seemed a bit long compared to Ty’s. Gilles and Cheryl are up last pulling up the rear. They look great together and their faces tell the whole story - they have the best solo. They are perfectly in sync when they all three dance together. The crowd liked it. I didn’t think it was as good as Team Mambo. The music was too slow for my taste. Bruno thought it was powerful, naughty, and beautiful. He loved the end sequence. Carrie Ann said she thought team Tango takes it b/c of their team work. Len points out the little blunder with Lil’ Kim and Derek. Len thought Ty nailed it and Gilles had missteps with his footwork. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30. Team Tango does take it.

Leaderboard:

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 28 out of 30

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 27 out of 30

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 27 out of 30

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough 26 out of 30

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 24 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 21 out of 30

Melissa and Ty could be in the bottom 2 and I hope that you will do what you need to do to keep Melissa. She deserves to be the competition so VOTE VOTE VOTE! See ya tomorrow night!

Oh yes, Joanne, I was taking big stab at the old broads who love Ty. That wouldn’t be you would it? LOL! You know I love you, Joanne. Anyways, just as predicted (yes, the show is becoming quite predictable) the encore dance is the group dance. Let’s take a gander at it again, shall we? Shawn did something different this time (standing on her hands moving her legs in the air) and I must say I liked her first bit better last night.  Loved it all again. Good stuff! Recraps…

Len’s shirt and tie from last night was lovely - lovin’ the purple. Go Len. Oh here we go - injury drama. Melisa bruised her ribs in practice and still went out there and did her stuff. We still haven’t heard about Ty. Apparently Jewel tweeted (twittered) that Ty dislocated his rib last night. I want to know why we aren’t hearing any of this Ty drama. Perhaps he demanded they keep it under wraps. Jewel said this show is dangerous. Ya think? Oh here’s a taped package about the physical demands this show entails. Perhaps they will get into Ty’s injuries here. We have our very own expert talking in medical terms. Wow - they are talking about calorie burning and perhaps I should give up my running for dancing. Next up - Natasha Bedingfield singing her new single, “Soulmate.” Lacey and Dmitry are dancing all sexy to the song.  Great job dancing Lacey and Dmitry - very sultry and sexy.

They are really drawing out this elimination - we now have more special guests. Apparently they are called “Burn the Floor.” Too bad I am live and can’t Fast Forward. I don’t really like group dances when it is people I do not know. I’m not saying they aren’t good, but I lose interest fast, ya know? I’ll check in after this is over with.

Samantha is backstage with Ty/Chelsie and Chuck/Julianne. Apparently Samantha tells us that next week there will be a team dance. Team Tango and Team Mambo. That should be interesting.

The moment we’ve been waiting for - first saved couple: Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough. Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are safe as are Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. No surprises there!

This season for the first time ever DWTS is giving us the chance to pick a new pro for next season. The judges will give their opinion, but won’t vote. We get that ultimate decision. Afton DelGrosso and Brent Borbon are up first. Afton is Ashley DelGrosso’s sister. They are dancing the Cha Cha Cha. They both did great. Not sure how America is going to choose. Len thought this is a wonderful competition. He thought Afton showed more flair than Brent. Ashley was in the audience and screamed for her. Bruno had great comments for both and is curious to see Brent in ballroom. Carrie Ann thinks Brent has a definite TV presence. She told Afton she is beautiful. Ashley was screaming her head off.  I think this is an interesting competition.

Next up Anna Demidova - she’s Russian. Her partner is Mayo Alanen. He reminds me of a young Louis Van Amstel. Anna is beautiful. They are dancing the waltz.  Mayo has a very nice skinny body with nice lines. Their dance was beautiful. Carrie Ann loved it. She loved Mayo’s distinguished character and Anna’s star quality. Len said they made the dance look fantastic and is interested in seeing them in Latin. Bruno thought Mayo’s lines were beautiful and something about Anna I didn’t quite understand. I often times think I need a translator to understand Bruno.

Next up is Snow Urbin who was on So You Think You Can Dance. Genya Mazo is her partner and his brother is Alec Mazo winner of season 1. They are doing the Rumba. They are having issues in practice because he thinks he is carrying her in the dance. Ouch! Is it just me or do the potential pros who has a bro or sister that was a pro before have an advantage? Bruno thought Snow was on fire and thought Genya was very supportive of her. Carrie Ann agreed. Len thought Genya danced like a real man and liked Snow’s passion - no raunchy and he liked it. He mentioned that Genya got smacked in the mouth and still carried on. I could tell there was blood on his teeth. I rewound it and couldn’t tell where he got smacked.

So who is your favorite new pro? Spill it!

More guest stars “Celtic Woman.” Let’s get this show on the road, shall we? I just fast forwarded it - it did sound beautiful, but I need this show on the road, seriously!

Finally - the elimination - no dance off either. Next saved couples are: Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough (Booo!) and Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke. Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska and Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower are the bottom 2 (not necessarily the bottom though). Leaving us tonight is Lawrence and Edyta. Awww. It was about time. Tom calls him out on wanting to leave the show and get back to the golf course. He gushed about Edyta being the best partner. How sweet. He is ready to get back to his golf game. We were ready for him to go too.

I must say that when they showed the last 4 couples on the stage, it looked like the girls were Disney Princesses with their gold, blue, and pink gowns. It was actually pretty. Anyways, Ty better step his game up or he could be the next one outta here. You old broads better get your fingers rested so you can dial like a maniac next week for Ty. And don’t forget we have our first team dance. Let’s hope Ty is on a team with Gilles and Shawn to make him look good. He could use all the votes he can get.

Dancing with the Stars wk. 7

Well I’ve been reading that Ty Murray was hurt last week in the group dance. His Mic. pack hit him in the eye causing some bleeding. You can bet the producers are gonna milk that drama! This week the dancers not only have to learn their normal dance routine, but the group dance routine. This should be interesting and fun! I always love a good group dance.

First impressions: Lil’ Kim looks lovely in pink. Lawrence has a blue velvet suit on. Gilles Marini is decked out in a black suit with gold shirt and matching gold tie. He looks handsome as usual. Chuck Wicks has on red silk with the middle of his shirt unbutton revealing a nice tan, non-hairy chest. Ohh lala. Ty Murray has on a suit without the jacket and a burgundy tie. Shawn Johnson has on a weird color combination with black on one side and pink/tan on the other and it is sequined. Melissa Rycroft has on red and black with lots o’ sequins and sparkles. I can say that I do not like Shawn’s costume at all. Yuck! Tom reminds us that the Stars helped design the costumes this week. I must say that Lawrence has Edyta all covered up in a long blue gown showing NO SKIN and she even has feathery/fur up around her face. I’m sure that will be coming off b/c who can dance in that getup? She looks like a blue snow bunny. For the most part, I think the Stars did a good job of designing the outfits except for Shawn. Although Shawn did dress Mark nice in  black sequined tux and a tiny bow tie. Derek Hough is a bit boring with a tux and the pink tie open along each side of the lapel. I could go on, but I won’t. We’ve got dancing to judge.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani have the Argentine Tango this week.  Melissa needs to become a maneater so they visit Terri Hatcher on Whisteria Lane (not sure if I spelled that right?). She is starting of with sharp movements and what appears to be a lift. Perhaps lifts are allowed in this dance - I dunno! I love the intricate leg work. She seems to be in the character here and another lift with splits. Niice! Another lift after lift and I must say I really digged this performance. It was sexy. Len thought it was fantastic with the intricate steps, the lifts were executed beautifully, but thought there was a tiny blunder. Bruno disagrees with Len stating this is the Revenge of the Maneater. He needs a drink after all that. Carre Ann thought it was the best Argentine Tango she’s seen and loved the lifts. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from stingy ole Len for a 29 out of 30. Tony tells us that Melissa has bruised ribs and is a trooper. We would have never known she did that good!

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska have the waltz. She wants him to work on grace this week. They dance to “Open Arms.” And her furry coat comes off to reveal a pretty blue/purple/black gown and it really is gorgeous - great job Lawrence. They are gliding nicely, but during a move Lawrence puts his arm down on the ground and it looks like Edyta didn’t know what to do with that - so a misstep. It was still elegant and graceful though which is what they were striving for. Bruno thought he got the romance right, but he was clumsy in the turn and lost some balance - not terrible, but not brilliant. Carrie Ann saw more freedom in his movements and commented on her dress design. Len liked the tenderness, grace, elegance and he pointed out some missteps, but was overall shocked at how well he performed it though. Scores were all 7’s for a 21 out of 30.

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough have the rumba and Derek mentions he needs to tone down Kims hotness. Derek is getting down to business and is really hard on himself with the choreography this week hoping to please everyone including Len. Kim is in character which works in this dance. She is being sexy and sultry, but not overdoing it. It was pretty sexy, but I would have liked to seen more movement as it seemed to be stuck in one place on the stage. It was ok! Carrie Ann thought it was understated and underwhelming, and she wants her to bring her best game forward. Len said be still my beating heart. He did agree with Carrie Ann though and don’t want them to please one person. Bruno thought it was a good rumba, but wanted more raunch (he pronounced it Roanch). Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 for a 26 out of 30.

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough are dancing the Samba. Chuck screams out in practice “All I want is a 9″ and it was so hilarious! They are doing basic Samba moves and really putting hips and flare into it. I think Len will be pleased. I really like him doing this dance! I think this might have been one of his best in my opinion! Len liked it a lot! Len thought it was his best dance to date - yep I thought so too. Bruno said he was working his butt and hips like he’s never seen before. Carrie Ann stands up and puts her arms up in the air waving them like she just don’t care. Chuck and Julianne are pleased as pie. I smell some 9’s and maybe some 10’s - we’ll see. Scores 3 9’s for a 27 out of 30. Chuck got his wish!

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower are dancing the waltz. He is a little bit embarrassed because of the romantic aspect of it. His wife, Jewel, comes in to help things along. He is a bit awkward with Chelsie, but I’m sure he’ll do fine. He dedicated this waltz to his wifey. Looks like they are doing a lift here at the beginning - we’ll see if CA lets them get away with that. They have nice rise and fall and are gliding nicely. They are perfectly in-sync. I thought it was beautiful! Bruno thought it was a big comeback. Carrie Ann thought he was a beautiful frame for Chelsie and is glad he is back. Len thought the posture, hold, movement, rise and fall were all great. Scores were all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas have the cha cha cha this week. Shawn has had a busy week and has to learn 2 dances. She will be learning the group dance by herself. Dang, that will be pressure packed for her. She is stressing out big time and Mark is too. They dance to Michael Jackson’s, “PYT” which explains Mark’s high water pants. This is fast and she is working her hips. They infuse Michael Jackson moves with cha cha moves and it realy works. Mark is always good with his cha cha chas. Wow, I loved this one. I hope they have the encore dance. It was fun, fast, cute, and hip. Carrie Ann loved and got so caught up in the technique - tonight she came alive and as she was showing that she almost fell off her chair. Len thought they blended the rythmn in really well and did a good job. Bruno thought she was flamboyant and vibrant. You can tell he loved it.  Scores were 1 10 from Bruno and 2 9’s from the other two for a 28 out of 30. This is her first 10 ever.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke are dancing the Viennese Waltz. Gilles is having issues with the softness of the dance. Cheryl gets him in the water with a synchronized swimmer and they dance in the pool. He seems to get it now because of how the water created resistance. Whatever, I think Cheryl wanted to get Gilles in a swimsuit and see his “stuff.” I’m not sure what this song is, but it sounds very Adam’s Family while trying to be beautiful at the same time. They look good together, have nice rise and fall, but I can still see the latin moves in him which are more sharp and less fluid. It was nice, but not great in my opinion. Len thought it had romance, lovely rotation, and it was overall superb. Bruno  - liked it, but I didn’t understand a word he said. Whatever. Carrie Ann said he is the most graceful male dancer, but to watch his posture. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Group dance is next and it will be 70’s themed. I forgot we probably won’t have a couple’s encore dance because they will feature the group dance. Bummer. I wanted to see Mark and Shawn’s Cha Cha Cha again. Not sure why Kim and Derek have on huge sunglasses when they are getting interviewed for this dance. Weirdness. Ty comes into practice with long hair, headband, and ready to go to Woodstock. Embarrassing! The choreographer is going nuts and Gilles and Ty can’t keep up. Chuck was doing a good job of keeping up. Mark brought a cut-out of Shawn Johnson which was pretty fun. Apparently they won’t be dancing with their partners much in this which is good. Poor Lawrence is having issues and just doesn’t get it. He thinks everyone is acting like clowns. We get solos and the pros/stars have to come up with their own 60’s moves. Ty gets on top of Chelsie and rides her like a bull which was HILARIOUS. Chuck Wicks came up with Chuck Wheels which was a cartwheel. DUMB! I’m shocked they didn’t play up Ty’s injury. Maybe they will do that after the commercial break or not!

Here we go - group dance time. Can’t wait for this! It is in black and white. They are wearing gogo boots - the females anyway. Now as the guys come in we go to color. Ty and Lawrence can’t keep up with the fast moves. I loved their solos and Ty really did the bucking bull with Chelsie. Chuck really did the Chuckwheels and they put more in as well. Everything was soooo much fun. I LOVED IT!! Bruno thought it was fantastic fun. Carrie Ann thought the girls nailed it! Len didn’t want to pick out one person and loved the fun and energy - thought it was fantastic. I did too! I’m sure we will be seeing that again tomorrow night. I hope they have 2 encores - Shawn/Mark and the group dance. A girl can hope, can’t she? LOL!

Leaderboard

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 29 out of 30

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 28 out of 30

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough 27 out of 30

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 27 out of 30

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 26 out of 30

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 24 out of 30

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska 21 out of 30

I think Lawrence Taylor and Lil’ Kim might be in trouble this week. I just don’t think Lil’ Kim was THAT good and Lawrence just isn’t that good. I think Ty did better and he did step it up, but who knows if it will be enough? I do think that Ty has a bigger fan base than either of the two and might pull through b/c lets face it - old ladies love Ty. Until tomorrow night…
