Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Finale

Posted By: admin On: November 24, 2010 Comments: ( 1 )

Loved the beginning of this episode tonight…showing their journey and how far they’ve come.  Tom did the voiceover and it gave me goosebumps.

All of our pros start in black are dancing for us starting on the steps. Our kicked off celebs are back all dressed in red. Margaret is showcasing those tats, baby.  Don’t know if you noticed but she hid them much throughout the competition. That was fun. Wow - Michael Bolton is of performing a show in London (wonder if that is really the reason or he is still pissed over his judges comments) and Audrina Patridge is recovering from an illness. Well, boo I wanna see Audrina once more.

We see recaps from last night along with backstage and before performance commentary.  Apparently Jennifer and Derek almost bit it during their freestyle rehearsal. He went to jump over her head and knocked her down the steps. They both stayed on their feet, but man, it could have been disastrous. Jennifer slipped a disc last night, but was fixed up by the doctor and is going to push through and do her last 2 dances.  Wow - what a trooper.

Christina Aguilera is doing a Burlesque number.  This girl has got some pipes.

Up first dancing tonight is Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer dancing their Tango.  They get to pick their favorite ballroom dance from the season and perform that again. Their Tango was performed during rock week. Something seemed off here…I can’t quite place it, but perhaps Lacey was off?  It was still good though, but it didn’t seem like it was the same as before.  Len said he comes out with a great ‘tude, full of energy, and full on - that’s why he is so exciting to watch. Bruno said he is a talented young man, a stage animal, and a great professional. Carrie Ann is glad they chose the Tango b/c it showed all the wonderful aspects of him - she loves the freshness that they both bring.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are also doing their Tango.  That was her break through dance.  This is the one they did during Rock Week and broke hold which they got docked for.  They are going to do the break in hold again b/c she thought it was fun to do. I think this time she is less intense and more soft.  I don’t think it helps that her hair is getting in the way.  It should have been pulled back.  I liked it better first time around. Sorry, Bristol. Bruno said this was the dance that showed us Bristol the fighter - she earned her way to the finale with this dance. Carrie Ann said out of all of these dances this is her favorite. Len said Kyle and her are two sides of the coin - he’s got the WOW and she’s got the HOW - the choice is what do you prefer?  And there ya go.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough dance their Viennese Waltz from week 1.  She feels week 1 she was connected to Patrick, but now she is connected to Derek. She got a little off in her turns, but regrouped and is back to beautiful..but her feet came off the floor at the end like a lift. Not sure if they will hold that against her or not afterall, Bristol did break hold when she shouldn’t have. It was still gorgeous as usual. Carrie Ann is glad she chose that dance so we can see the full journey - tonight there was a new wisdom in her body - she allowed the dance to happen and the magic was right there. Len called her the complete package.  Bruno said that it was a blissfully beautiful waltz.

Kyle and Lacey got a 26 out of 30. Bristol and Mark got a 25 out of 30. Jennifer and Derek got a 30 out of 30. Congrats Jen and Derek!  One last dance coming up - Cha Cha Cha for everyone.  Their song is Raise Your Glass by Pink.  Kyle/Lacey dance 1st, Jen/Derek dance 2nd, Bristol/Mark 3rd.  They will be doing an instant dance.

The Hoff did his whole Bay Watch bit and ran to the stage and is now singing. Blech! No wonder he got kicked off week 1. ha! He is dancing with three women, one is Kym Johnson and all three have on baywatch bathing suits. Ick-a-loo!

Kurt nd Rick are gonna face off.  Kurt thinks he is 1 up since he lasted longer than Rick.  Rick is wearing his Laker colors all glammed up with a basketball, Kurt in his red/white with a football.  Anna is in all white with the #13 written on her back.  They dance off first and do really well.  Cheryl is in purple wth yellow touches on the bottom of her dress. Rick and Kut go head to head and even do a chest bump. OMG - how hilarious.  They end back to back.  It was quite humorous if you ask me.

Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel as well as Florence and Corky are back to show us why they were kicked off. Florence is dressed like the Chiquita banana lady and as my mom said - she acts drunk at the Copa. She lost her turn and just looks out of it. What the heck, Flo?  Margaret was great though.  Damian and Dmitry helped out too.

Now… we see the most tramatic moments of this season. Jennifer crying over Patrick, Brandy cussing at Maks, Sitch dropping Karina in lifts, The crowd booing at something other than Sarah Palin, The Sitch leaving the backstage confessional b/c of being pissed, Jennifer/Derek fighting and her injuries, Bristol crying backstage about being exhausted (boohoo), and Carrie Ann and Maks arguing over his choreography. Such Drama…

The Sitch is back as Governor and he has gray hair - they go into a time machine and come out on stage dancing to “I’m too sexy.” They remove his shirt.  He is just dancing around these sexy girls one of them being Karina.  He did some lifts with Karina, but not much.  He shows us his guns at the end.  People are laughing and frankly, so am I.

Most memorable moments of the season: The Hoff leaving in round 1, Michael Bolton and his bad jive, Audrina eating an onion, The Situation’s futuristic dance, Florence showing us her boobs, And Steve-O visiting Kyle.  And….our surprising eliminations this season.  Those are our most memorable moments of the season? Some of those were not very memorable I must say.

Brandy and Maks are back dancing their Quickstep. They hug at the end and the crowd is giving her a standing-O.

Christina A. is back singing Beautiful.  Some people doing sign language come out and sign the lyrics around her.

Well we are up to the Instant Dance of the Cha Cha Cha b/w the final 3. Bristol and Jennifer are wearing fringe pants.  Kyle is in black leather.  It’s time to see what these three are made of. They’ve had less than an hour to get their dance together. He just makes me smile.  Here comes Jen and Derek. They were awesome and cute. Bristol brings up the rear.  She did great here as well.  I loved this.  I thought they all did great!

Len was amazed they all came out with such short time. Bristol on fire, Kyle a marvel, and Jen right up there.  Bruno said Jen’s Cha Cha was perfection, Kyle a powerhouse, Bristol saved the best for last. Carrie Ann said all did great - A game brought. She sees why all in finals. Kyle inspired joy, Bristol inspired hope, and Jen tells us about perserverance. Great way to end the season.  Kyle/Lacey got 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30. Jen/Derek got 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30. Bristol/Mark got 3 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Results time….

3rd place goes to: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas (Amen!). We stroll down memory lane. Looks like Mark is wiping away tears. Well, the final 2 is what it should be. Btw, I voted 10 times and I divided them evenly b/w Jen/Derek and Kyle/Lacey so I’m happy with either one winning.

The new champion of Dancing with the Stars is………..Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. Woohoo! Tom said there were times today she didn’t think she’d compete tonight and with tears in her eyes she says no.  Derek is the first 3 time winner!  Yayy for her! She’s so damn cute! Well, folks…until the next season.

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Finale

Posted By: admin On: November 23, 2010 Comments: ( 1 )

Can’t believe we are here - its the finale, folks.  Didn’t take long, did it?  Kyle’s decked out in gold, Jennifer in all black, and Bristol baby blue with sparkles.  First dance consists of a judges pick to where the couples get to redeem themselves - judges visit the dancers to give them tips on the routines.  Second round consists of our beloved freestyle dances.

First up is Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer dancing the Foxtrot. The first time they did this they took the Charlie’s Angel’s theme too far.  I really liked the dance, but unfortunately Len did not.  I’m guessing Len will pay them a visit. And here comes Len…Len holds him and helps him with his posture, shoulders, head position, and footwork. He’s looks really slick and suave here. He was in control the whole time - great performance. Len said he tried to help and isn’t a miracle worker - the foxtrot is most demanding - he’s come out so much better than the first time.  Overall, he’s gone from Messy Massey to Marvelous. Bruno said he’s slick, sharp and slinky - technique has improved tremendously. Carrie Ann said she saw improvement in footwork - she wanted to see him focus more on the entertainment and less on technicality. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Dancing the Jive is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas. Her first jive started in the gorilla suit and it didn’t quite work out so right. Bristol is more concerned with the media attention than Kyle and Jennifer.  She keeps talking about people saying she doesn’t deserve to be there over Brandy. Hmmm.. No comment. Bruno is working with her to make her more wild.  Both Mark and Bruno are going crazy as she just stands there watching them. Not sure how much Bruno helped, but I did see her working on her kicks. She is carring a suitcase with her gorilla suits in there and throws it on the ground.  So far she is keeping up, but she needs to match Marks bounce. I thought it was cute, but not bouncy enough and not enough energy from Bristol. Mark puts on the gorilla head as we wait for judges critiques.  Bruno said he brought something out of her, he sad she came out and enjoyed herself and that’s what its all about. Carrie Ann said she came out this week and was more vibrant, but toes not as pointed as could have been. Len said before a gorilla now a thriller, higher energy, vast improvement - well done. They obviously didn’t see what I saw. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are up dancing the Paso Doble. Carrie Ann wants her to work on being bigger with her small frame/body. All the lights are down and it is very dramatic. They dance to a song from Carmen. Wow I couldn’t take my eyes off of it to even type. I think that wreaks of 10’s. Very hot, very good, technically superb! Carrie Ann said this is redemption.  Jennifer hugged her - Carrie Ann said she saw everything they worked on and she was in her power.  Len said there was a lovely mix of expression and aggression.  He stands up and claps saying it was fantastic. Bruno said it was an evening in sultry seville…from dusk til dawn he does not want this night ever to end. I guess he liked it. ha! Scores are all 10’s for a perfect 30.  Btw, Bruno wished he had an 11.

Leaderboard after Round 1:

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 30 out of 30

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 27 out of 30

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 27 out of 30

Past stars are weighing in what the freestyle means - and how you need to nail it.  Otherwise you are going home. Tell us something we didn’t know.  It was great to see past stars though especially Apolo and Helio.

Dancing freestyle is Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.  He picked the song “Tootsie Roll” because that’s his favorite song.  I can’t wait for this.  He starts on top of the judges table in front of Len. He did lots of hip hop and provided lots of entertainment. I loved how he kept up and moved so quickly.  He’s a big boy but sure doesn’t move like one. It was fun! Len said Tootsie Roll is one of his favorites - he said he came out and did what he did best - great fun and entertainment and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Bruno called it truly explosive entertainment. Carrie Ann corrected Len in calling it old school hip hop. She dubbed him the Fresh Prince of DWTS - he killed it.  Scores are 2 10’s and a 9 from Len who just doesn’t get it. 29 out of 30 here and a 56 out of 6o grand total.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas dance their freestyle. Mark is basing the dance off a broadway show that Bristol has not ever seen. Hopefully this won’t backfire in their faces because she was NOT comfy in practice. She starts off in jail/cage. They do some hat work with a chair. They do a lot of tricks with a pink scarf and it seemed to work.  It worked with her personality too since it matched the Paso Doble she did so well in an earlier round. It ended with Mark in the cage.  Bruno has to give her credit for aiming so high - she did very, very well, but not at the level that this song required.  Carrie Ann asked if she saw her dancing in a cage. LOL!  She gives her lots of credit for coming out of her shell - she is proud of her for trying to tackle it. Len said it was no disaster it was fantastic.  Scores are 2 8’s and a 9 from Len for a 25 out of 30. Grand total is 52 out of 60.

Last up is Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough dancing their freestyle.  She is in an old granny pink dress with a pink sweater.  That is just begging to come off. I hope they do a spoof of Dirty Dancing. Derek pushes her to do lots of tricks and lifts - so hopefully she can pull through and get ‘er done.  She starts off spoofing Dirty Dancing by holding a watermelon.  They dance to “Do You Love Me,” which is the first song she saw Johnny dirty dancing and where she got to first dirty dance herself.  Derek pulls her outfit off just as suspected. They dirty dance on top of the judges table. Wow - lots of tricks and I loved it. She gives her fam kisses. Carrie Ann thought it was amazing, perfect, and a lift extravaganza.  Len said she’s been consistently going down the freeway to that mirrorball trophy.  Bruno said two dances at the opposite ends of the spectrum and equally as brilliant. Scores are all 10’s for a perfect 30 out of 30 and a grand total of 60.  Brooke asked why they didn’t choose “Time of your Life” and she said that is her dance with Patrick and wanted to do something new with Derek. Awww!

Leaderboard out 2nd Round:

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 60 out of 60

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 56 out of 60

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 52 out of 60

Who will take it?  Will it mirror our leaderboard?  I will be happy with Kyle or Jennifer winning.  Bristol deserves 3rd place compared to the competition.  Tonight was fun.  Can’t believe this season is almost over. Until tomorrow night!

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 9 Results

Posted By: admin On: November 17, 2010 Comments: ( 2 )

Received an email from my Mom saying “Let me know when you’ve watched DWTS! I am P…..!” meaning Pissed.  She can’t stand that word, but I knew what she meant w/o having to spell it.  That only means one thing (I think)…Kyle probably goes home. I do know that Bristol stays based on this response. I am tuning in late and hope that Brandy goes home tonight.  Yeah I know I haven’t been much of a Bristol fan, but she stepped it up last night and I wouldn’t mind seeing her in the finals. Anyways….the encore dance belongs to Maks and Brandy’s Argentine Tango. Boo!

Annie Lennox is here for our entertainment tonight. I don’t know who is dancing. She’s singing “Universal Child” if you are wondering. Btw, last night DWTS received the most votes ever.

jennifer-and-derek-week-9.jpg

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough find out their fate first tonight. They are SAFE!

Design a dance is next.  We picked Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke along with Billy Joel’s It’s Still Rock N Roll To Me. It is set as an old drive in movie.  Its pretty cute if you ask me.

Annie is back singing with some Macy’s dancers.

 Kyle and Lacey Week 9

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer are going to the FINALS!! WOOHOO!  I guess that means Brandy goes home b/c I know my Mom does not like Bristol.

Enrique Iglesias is singing for us now. He’s singing “Baby, I like it.” The judges are on their feet dancing, clapping, and having a rip roaring good time. Our pros are dancing for us. I see Louis Van Amstel, Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, Damian (forgot his last name), Dmitry Chaplin, and some girl I don’t know. The camera guys got a little confused after Enrique jumped off the stage. I’m guessing Louis Van Amstel choreographed this and I thought it was wonderful how all the couples were intertwined.

Bristol/Mark and Brandy/Maks find out their fate…….

 Brandy and Maks Week 9

Bristol and Mark are safe.

Brandy and Maksim Week 9

Brandy and Maksim are leaving us tonight.

Bruno is truly shocked and asks her to come back and do her freestyle on the final show. Awww! Brandy is putting her head in his chest and is crying. Awww, how sad! :(

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 9

Posted By: admin On: November 16, 2010 Comments: ( 1 )

Tonight is the semi-finals!! Will Bristol be able to make it to the finals? Hope not.  But with the help of her Mom and her “tea parties” she is bound to be in the finals and possibly win DWTS.

First up is Maks and Brandy.  First dance is the Paso Doble.  They will dance the Argentine Tango later in the evening. She isn’t wearing a cape which is a big change.  She is wearing pants. I don’t know what is wrong with this perhaps the music, but the music doesn’t match the Paso Doble dance.  I liked how Maks made the choreography tell the story of a woman being told what to do and she has had enough… but it was weird with the Paso Doble dance. Len said she came out 100% with lots of aggression and attack. Bruno said she released all the aggression, but some of the finesse went a little bit. Carrie Ann said her performance was passionate, upper carriage was gorgeous, great job. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough have the Cha Cha Cha and Waltz. We didn’t hear about her injuries this week so that’s good. It was getting kinda old. They dance to Mercy by Duffy. She starts at the judges table and picks Derek out of the audience to dance the Cha Cha with. I am loving this - lots of fun and hip action aka dirty dancing. That was great and brought us back to Baby from Dirty Dancing.  And maybe someone would like to explain why Jaime Lee Curtis is always in the audience sitting by Jen’s hubby?  What’s the connection? Bruno said it was a vibrant, sexy cha cha cha - execution was flawless, feet placement excellent, fantastic.  Carrie Ann said she has been waiting all season to see her do the Cha Cha and she wasn’t disappointed at all except she shimmied on Bruno and not Len. ha! Len loved good technique and the high performance level combined along with performance and entertainment. Scores are (probably all 10’s)… all 10’s just as predicted. Total 30 out of 30.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are up next.  Mark brings up the “tea parties” and debunks it saying people identify with Bristol b/c she’s real. Whatevs - its the “tea parties.”  She’s stressed because of the 2 dances - well she’s not a great dancer compared to the others so what can we expect.  First dance is the Paso Doble. She has a cape and is doing a solo on stage and is looking good doing it that is for sure.  She goes to the middle of the stage and has more solo cape work - doing great so far. Wow, I must say that I am enjoying this dance a little more than I’d like to admit.  She is totally in character, the music is great, costumes great and she did pretty good. I’m quite impressed with what she just did! I think the judges might be pleased tonight at least with this dance. Carrie Ann asks her to come here and she hugs her - saying this is what they’ve been asking her to do week after week. She said she came out of her shell and nailed it. Len said she’s been in the bottom 2 six times and she’s come back each time. He called her Bristol the Pistol and he thought it was her best dance. Bruno said the little lamb is turning into a Tigress - she did the Spanish lines very very well. Yep, they liked it. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer have the Argentine Tango and Sambo this week. He moonwalks at the top of the stage and does some Samba moves. He meets Lacey at the judges table and they start their Samba. I like his precise sharp moves perfectly in sync with Lacey. I really like the bounce of this - it is a very good Samba. I loved it!  This is gonna be a hard night tonight if everyone does as good as they have this first round. No clear cut winner is emerging. Len said there is no backstage dramas and he just comes out and gets on with it. He said he has a bionic bum b/c he has more bounce to the ounce than anyone this season. He loved it. Bruno said he is a bouncing bundle of joy - said he is a natural generator of fun..and he can bounce. Carrie Ann said he has some bounce - OMG - she’s never seen so much pelvic action. Said it was a great blend of fun and technique. Scores are 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a 29 out of 30.

Leaderboard after Round 1:

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 30 out of 30

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 29 out of 30

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy 27 out of 30

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 27 out of 30

Brandy and Maksim are up with their second dance - dancing the Argentine Tango. We get to see more about each stars life. She talks about her car accident and how she was called a murderer.  Her Mom talks about how she came out of it strong. Interesting. They need to come with their guns blazing because everyone is raising the bar this week.  By the way, she has a tramp stamp on her back. I thought there could have been more raunchy passion b/w them, but it was good overall. Len said they moved in and out of lifts effortlessly and he loved the atmosphere they created. Bruno loved the way she extended her body. Carrie Ann said she had a little bit of trouble in the first dance, and a little bit of trouble in life, but after watching this dance the trouble is gone.  She said other wonderful things and was getting emotional. Scores are all 10’s for a perfect 30.

Jennifer Grey is doing her final dance.  Her taped package is so cute - we get to see pics of her as a child and she’s darling. We hear about Jennifer and Matthew Broderick were in a car accident where people in the other car were killed. She got whip lash and her neck issues started. We see the plate in her neck and said she was first approached to do DWTS she knew her neck wouldn’t hold up.  Oh, Jaime Lee Curtis is her friend and she’s being interviewed on her taped package.  Thanks for finally explaining why she is always in the audience. Her hubby is so cute and is so proud of her. She is dancing the Waltz and looks stunning. Her and Derek walk slowly towards each other and she does a one footed spin like one of those ballet dancers on top of a jewelry box. She is making this look effortless.  They are gliding across the floor like it is nothing. They end with the same spin they did in the beginning.  Very gorgeous! Bruno called it a gem of a waltz, danced with ease, quality of movement stunning. Carrie Ann said through dancing we can see people’s souls - she said it was one of the most beautiful things she’s ever seen. Len said be still my beating heart - sometimes a whisper says more than a shout - calling it fabulous. Derek is backstage getting choked up. Scores are all 10’s for a perfect 30 out of 30 AGAIN! Grand total 60 out of 60.

Next up is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas.  Sarah, her Mom, talks about Bristol’s pregnancy.  She was at work when she got the call for DWTS and she got in her truck and drove to California..took her 5 days. They also have the Waltz.  She has on black again and a hood to start off with.  The music is very powerful  and so is the lighting. Wow - that was pretty intense.  I’m shocked at the level they danced tonight…truly shocked. Carrie Ann said in this dance there were moments where she drifted in and out of character, but she feels she’s come so far. Len loved the vulnerability and haunting quality to it. He loved it. Bruno loved how they approached this differently like the woman of mystery - out of all the people in this season, she’s really had a journey and he’s happy to see her here. Scores are 2 9’s and an 8 from Carrie Ann for a total of 26 out of 30. Grand total 53 out of 60.

Last up is Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.  I’m anxious to see this guys taped package because I knew nothing of the kid going into this.  We see cute pics and video of Kyle as a little boy.  He’s a cutie. They dance the Argentine Tango to a Ballywood song.  Great lifts and I love this song with their movements. WOW - Lacey was doing some amazing leg work and kind of dancing around Kyle, but he did some fancy legwork at the end too and ended on a bang. WOW! What an awesome night tonight!! Len said he is a STAR! Len said in 11 seasons no one has ever come out and performed with such attack, so much enthusiasm as he does. Bruno said he’s all sharp, masculine, and all with a cheeky grin. Whatever happens he is season 11 Mr. Charisma.  Carrie Ann said he reminds her of Emmitt Smith - he came out and killed it at the end. Scores are 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a 29 out of 30. Grand total 58 out of 60.

Leaderboard after Round 2:

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 60 out of 60

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 58 out of 60

Brandy and Maskim Chmerkovskiy 57 out of 60

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 53 out of 60

I am in love with everyone but Brandy this week.  Her performances were mediocre.  Bristol stepped it up.  Kyle raised an entire bar up and Jennifer just kept her bar up high.  What an amazing week this week!  I now can say with all honesty that all 4 couples belong in this semi-final. I couldn’t exactly say that at first - I’ve swallowed my pride and admitted my mistake.  Tomorrow night will be a sad night to let any of these couples go!

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 8 Results

Posted By: admin On: November 10, 2010 Comments: ( 2 )

Encore dance belongs to Kyle and Lacey doing their jive. And I’m starting off with this b/c my recording didn’t start until 2 min after the show starting for whatever reason. Hmmm…

Kyle and Lacey Week 8 Instant Dance

Kyle and Lacey are safe tonight! Woot!

We get a Dance Center teaser Jerry Rice is telling Kenny he needs to pinch the egg and shows him some type of elegant hand motion. They are doing that as shirtless Mark Ballas walks by. Then shirtless Tony walks by and here comes shirtless Len with some tats on his body.  Jerry and Kenny look at him strange then go back to their hand motions. ha! And we are full on Dance Center. Jerry is wearing a pink star sticker under his right eye.  Jerry is also wearing fake eyelashes and “stache.  It was too funny to type all that nonsense so just check it out yourself.

First special guest star tonight is Tao Cruz. He kinda looks like an Usher wannabe.  I do like this song though so I won’t bash him too hard. Our pros are out dancing - Kym, Chelsie, unknown dirty blonde, Louis, Tony, and Dmitry. Very nice!

Second guest start John Legend. Pros on the floor are Maksim, Tony, Chelsie, and Cheryl. Chelsie and Tony must have had to do a quick costume change.

Jennifer and Derek Week 8 Instant Dance

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are safe.

Kurt and Anna Week 8 Instant Dance

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya are in jeopardy. What’s new?

By the way, Maks apologizes and will try to be cool. Brooke asks him if he wants to tell Carrie Ann anything and he said “Let’s just do our jobs! I will do mine.”  The crowd gets kind of silent and oohs. Tom said that being cool lasted only a few seconds. ha! Maks’ mouth always gets himself in trouble.

Next up is 5 talented kids going to give us a tutti fruiti jive. One is on the piano and the other 4 are dancing.  This is fun to see - these kids are just like little adults. Great job kids!

Back is Jon Legend and the Roots. Mark Ballas and So you Think You Can Dance winner (forget her name) are dancing for us. Tom just told us it was Janine. Yep, that’s her. Dance Center is baaaack. Funny moment: Kenny said “nobody comforted me when you kicked my ass off.” referring to Derek always hugging on Jennifer.  Jerry consoles Jerry. Kenny is wearing a tutu and Jerry a skirt.

Brandy and Maksim Week 8 Instant Dance

Brandy and Maksim are in jeopardy. WTH?

Bristol and Mark Week 8

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are safe. WTH?

Leaving us tonight is Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya. BOO! Crowd gives him a standing-o.  He had a feeling it was his night to go as he told Brooke ahead of time. What a class act of a guy! We will miss you, Kurt, and your huge hands!  Crowd cheers MVP along with the remaining dancers. awww…touching!

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 8

Posted By: admin On: November 9, 2010 Comments: ( 2 )

Ok just fyi I am pretty exhausted right now, had a bit too much margerita and I’m having trouble spelling…sooo..this blog could eithe be really short or really hilarious riddled with spelling errors.

I don’t have first impressions in me tonight but there are some pretty interesting costumes from Brandy and Lacey.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer are up first dancing the Viennese Waltz. They are focusing on the feet in practice and Lacey is being extra tough on him. Luckily he has thick skin.  They dance to “Breathe.” He looks very elegant tonight, but I’m not sure if I like his chin sticking out so much. I don’t know why, but I”m getting goosebumps watching this - could be the song, but it could be that this looks beautiful and elegant. Len called out all the things he did right - calling it gorgeous! Bruno said we are all totally charmed by him - he loves how he has come back and gotten better each time. By the way, Bruno is weaing a huge bling ring on his “ring finger”.  Carrie Ann has her crush back on Kyle. She thought it was a fairy tale come to life. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

We are getting a run down of the instant dance as it is more like a regular ballroom competition.  In a ballroom competition you step onto the dance floor and have no clue what music will be chosen. Our couples will have less than an hour after receiving their music and going live. If they are musically challenged they could have problems, they could fall, they could forget their routines, etc.  Trust and confidence in your partner is key.

Kyle and Lacey picked their cd and it is Good Golly Miss Molly. Kyle is super nervous - and Brooke reminds them they have only 45 minutes to rehearse. WOW! Should be intense and exciting!

Before we go to commercia break we see a doctor examining Jennifer Grey and makes it sound like she needs to make a decison to quit. Yeah - just trying to be dramatic. Obviously she is dancing this week so not sure what all the manufactured drama is about. They have the quickstep and her knee is bothering her. Derek had to stop her and doctor said it is severely enflamed. He wants her to make a decision to continue or not. Then her Daddy, Joel Grey, shows up.  Jennifer is going to push through b/c her Dad has always taught her the show must go on. So…here she goes! She looks great in sequins and white feathers at the end. So far she is bouncing around without any problems. Could be killing her inside though.  I thought she did great - and Jaime Lee Curtis is in the audience once again cheering her on. I don’t understand the relationship.  Bruno said it was like watching a vintage classic quickstep. He called out a tiny misstep and he wanted a bit more body contact, but she has it in her. Carrie Ann said it was gorgeous and amazing, but also called out the tiny misstep.  Len said lots of things, but it boiled down to being great. Scores are all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.

Jennifer picks her song - it is Waiting for a Girl Like you by Foreigner. They both act like they don’t know it, but I do. C’mon!

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya dance the Waltz this week. Kurt is also working on the technical part since it is a slow dance and that will definitely be noticed this week.   I think he does way better in the ballroom rounds because he is controlled and in hold.  I thought it was pretty good, nice, and elegant. I’m impressed by Kurt tonight. Carrie Ann said he was like a Ken doll that can dance. She said he isn’t quite at the same level as some other people, but loves his determination and improvement. Len said it is nice to see a big guy come out and be graceful. The whole feeling of the dance was beautiful. Bruno said when he smiles he lights up the room. Obviously there are people better than him, but he did a great job. Scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Their song this week is Hella Good by No Doubt. Neither of them don’t know the song. I do - why don’t these people not know the songs?  They only have 20 minutes to figure it out.  That sucks for the last couple. Do they only get 5 min?

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas dance the Argentine Tango.  We see her boo-hooing again in the confessional crying about missing her family so she brings them in to see her.  They encourage her and she hopes it will push her to perform. One can only hope after 8 weeks. She walks forward towards him in a seductive fashion as he sits on a chair.  This song is called “Loosen up my Buttons.” Funny song for a teen activist against pregnancy. Ironic would you say? ha! Her moves need to be crisper and mirror Marks.  Not bad, Bristol, not bad. Thought it was pretty good. I did like the choreography and Mark was brilliant. Pretty well done. Len thought the lifts were good, clean, but lacked a bit of intensity (he is boo-ed). He wants it full on.  Bruno thought she was mean and moody, but she sometimes loses the expression sometimes. Carrie Ann said she thought it was the most intensity they’ve ever seen ever, but what was slightly lacking was energy in her legs. Scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Bristol and Mark’s song is Mas Que Nada (Mark can’t pronouce it)…and this is one I have never heard before. hmmm… I bet I know what it is once I hear it.

Brandy and Maks are up next dancing the Waltz. She starts in a black cape and will shed it soon I’m sure. Maks is in all white and sheds the cape to reveal her all in white too.  Her turns are spot on and the are gliding across the floor. She looks like a natural at this. I do believe the singing for this song was pretty darn good.  That was very elegant and romantic - just beautiful. She is emotional. Bruno said this was more than a dance - an exquisite interpretation of a song - like a symphony - a poem. Carrie Ann said it was riveting, but told her to watch her neck and to relax as she will probably make it to the finals. Len said if you were a nitpicky person you could make a point about her neck, but he won’t because he was overwhelmed by the whole performance. Scores are 2 10’s and a 9 from Carrie Ann for a total of 29 out of 30.

Brandy and Maks choose Teenage Dream by Katy Perry.  Brandy knows it, but Maks doesn’t. They have 20 minutes to rehearse.

Kyle and Lacey are dancing the jive to their instant dance song. Steve-O Lacey’s season 8 partner comes in and distracts Kyle as he is learning steps. I don’t know why he is doing this, but this is pure comedy. At one point, Steve-O comes in naked at least it appears that way.

Before we go to commercial break we are teased by Dance Center.  Jerry Rice is gluing on little mirrors to the mirrorball.  Kenny asks him if he wants to go to lunch and Len asks if he wants them to bring him back a sandwhich after telling him not to work so hard. I just love these three. Can’t wait for Dance Center!

Kyle and Lacey are dancing their instant dance, jive, to Good Golly Miss Molly.  This really plays up to his performance skills - he is on fire! I thought they did well not knowing the music. Seemed like it fit well. The crowd is going WILD!! That was fun! It was so fast that he can barely catch his breath. Len said he came out fun, high energy, would have liked a bit more of finesse (he is boo-ed), but he really enjoyed it. Bruno said they didn’t lose a beat and it looked like it had been rehearsed for months. Carrie Ann said it was like that song was made for them - that was the most fun she’s ever had. Scores are 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a 29 out of 30. Grand total 56 out of 60.

Jennifer and Derek have the Rumba for their instant dance.  Their music is Waiting for a Girl Like you by Foreigner. Derek prepares her by doing the same moves to different songs to get her used to the random tunes. This is pretty good and I like her flexibility, but I could use some more hip action out of Jennifer. I love how she put her leg on Derek’s shoulder and didn’t hold on. Very sexy and very difficult. Bruno wonders what is going on tonight saying this challenge brings out the best in people - said it was classy, sexy and loved the pose - calling it flawless. Carrie Ann called out her balance as I did and said it went perfectly with the music. Carrie Ann thought it was wonderful watching her reclaim her power. Len loved the variations (speed then quiet, hard then soft, etc)..that makes great dancing and that’s what they’e just seen. Scores are all 10’s for a perfect 30 out of 30. Grand total 57 out of 60.

Kurt and Anna have the Cha Cha Cha for their instant dance to Hella Good.  Anna is choreographing to counts and Kurt doesn’t work that way. His kids come in to help and they are shouting out pointers just like they were judges.  The kids give him 9’s and 10’s. ha! Too bad he has Latin  - he just looks like a big goon during Latin.  By the way, he has fringe on his pants. ha! He seems to know the song because he is singing it and definitely having a good time with it. He keeps giving us jazz hands too. He has definitely loosened up on the dance floor tonight - that is for sure. I think he thrived in this situation. Carrie Ann said musicality has never been his strong suit, but tonight he nailed everything - she said he had sex appeal. Len said he coped extremely well. He said he was fully focused on the beat and to flex his legs a bit. Bruno said he came out, let it loose, had fun and went for it.  The performance was good, footwork not exactly great. Scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30 for a grand total of 48 out of 60.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas dance the Samba. She is super stressed because she doesn’t know counts either just like Mr. Warner. It worked for him so lets see if it works for her. She has nice upper shoulder and hip action. I definitely do not think this was her forte, but she got through it. Lots of shoulder shimmies, but that’s about it. Len said the Samba is the most difficult, but overall she coped overall. Wanted to see more rhythm in her hips not shoulders. Bruno said she can shake it and even did moves from his ‘dance video.’ Bruno said some times she lost it for a bit…Mark said he lost it and stood up and took responsibility…but they did do the pencil sharper as Bruno described on his dance video. ha!  Carrie Ann said this is the true test of musicality and said she wasn’t connected with the music. Scores are 2 8’s and a 7 from Carrie Ann for a total of 23 out of 30. Grand total 47 out of 60.

Up last is Brandy and Maks dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Teenage Dream by Katy Perry.  This is pretty fun, but I don’t like her bent arms in some of the moves.  It was pretty well done, but didn’t quite blow my socks off like the others. Bruno said it was another fabulous performance to end a truly fantastic night. Carrie Ann said she was shocked it took awhile for them to begin at the beginning - Maks is getting pissy with her. Len said it was full of flair, rhythm, but said Carrie Ann was quite right as he wanted the routine to start instantly. Maks is debating again. Scores are 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a total o 28 out of 30. Grand total 57 out of 60. Maks is going off about it all still backstage which might come back to bite him in the arse.  Brooke is trying to stop him to get to the votes and recaps.  He is really letting Carrie Ann have it. Oopsy!

Leaderboard:

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy 57 out of 60

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 57 out of 60

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 56 out of 60

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya 48 out of 60

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 47 out of 60

Bristol needs to get to steppin’ - don’tcha think? I’m just hoping Maks’ mouth hasn’t done him and Brandy in. He needs to zip the lip! He’s as bad as Karina and her eye rolls/bad attitude.

200th Episode - Dancing with the Stars!

Well we are getting election results in the middle of our results show - 2 min of DWTS missed due to election. Boo! Isn’t the big bar along the bottom of my screen enough info to get me through until DWTS is over with?  I know they want to give us National results, but c’mon.  haha!  Anyways - encore dance belongs to Team Apolo! Woot! I enjoyed it even more tonight - thought they were more synchronous. That was so much fun to watch. Loved it.

We get recaps, but they let us in to what is said b/w the Stars/Pro before and during the dance.  Maks told Brandy to relax and have fun and then we hear her go “ahhh!” when she got tied up with her footwork. Bristol cries in the backstage confessional about how tired she is and how she misses her son.  She said she wants to go home. Hmmm…well, lets send her packing, folks. No one is asking you to stay, Bristol. (Click images to enlarge)

Brandy and Maksim Week 7 - 200th Episode

First safe couple is Brandy and Maks.

Bristol and Mark Week 7 - 200th Episode

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are still in jeopardy.

Next up is the DWTS Awards. Most Dramatic Moment Nominees: Christian’s arm injury where he pulled a muscle, Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani’s fight, Misty May’s injury, Marie Osmond’s collapse, Kelly Monaco’s wardrobe malfunction. And the award goes to: Marie Osmond’s fainting episode. BOO! GAGGGGG!

Cast of Mary Poppins on the stage now. Not really interested. Entertainment for the night is Taylor Swift. Gag me - she sucks live. Not interested. Lacey, Chelsie, Tony and Dmitry are dancing to the awful singing. She is simply awful! :(

Best Worst Dancer Nominees: Kenny Mayne (his professional partner never returned either - ha), Master P, Kate Gosselin, Steve Wozniak, and Billy Ray Cyrus (forgot he was on here). And the winner is Kenny Mayne who receives the 2 left feet award. He couldn’t be more deserving. He’s here to accept his award unlike Gag Hag! Dance Center returns next week.

Jennifer and Derek Week 7

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are safe!

Rick and Cheryl Week 7

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke are in jeopady (and someone laughed hysterically when this was announced).

Biggest Dancer Transformation Nominees: Derek Hough (hair), Tony Dovolani (white teeth), Maksim Chmerkovskiy (hair), Mark Ballas (shaved and now buff), and Louis Van Amstel (no more pony tail).  Winner is Louis Van Amstel who wins the golden ponytail award.

Rod Stewart is here and I can only hope that he sings better than Ms. Swift. Good job Rod - I’m impressed!  He’s still got it!  Next up is the judges antics. And Bruno hides his face b/c he’s so embarrASSed. haha!

Kurt and Anna pray before they go on stage…. and they fight in the back stage confessional about bent knees. She tells him “well just cry about it!” haha!

Kurt and Anna Week 7

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya are safe.

Kyle and Lacey Week 7

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer are in jeopardy.

Awful singer is back-a-lack.  So far in tune - we’ll see how long this lasts. They show us highlights from the past 5 years including when GAG aka Donny Osmond, won. I can do without seeing the Osmonds for one night, thank you! The audience kees clapping at the highlights and could care less about the singer. That’s what I’m talking bout. LOL!  Oh by the way, Team Kristi is in the bottom 2. Did you notice that? And Tom just pretended to pass out and Taylor announced for him.

OMG next week they will choreograph a dance and will know the dance, but won’t know the song until they go live. WTH? Are you kidding me? Its called Instant Dance. Hmmm…. weird, but kinda cool!

Next safe couple is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas. WOW  - tonight we will lose either Kyle/Lacey or Rick/Cheryl. OMG!

Cast of Skating with the Stars: Bethenny Frankel (Real Housewives), Jonny Moseley (Olympic Skier), Rebecca Budig (All My Children), Brandon Mychal Smith (Disney Star), Sean Young (movie icon?), Vince Neil (Rock Star). Hmmm.. not sure what I think of this cast. I don’t care for Bethenny. I don’t know Brandon or Sean. Hmmm… Let me ponder this.

Leaving us tonight is Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke. Wow - shocked is all I can say! He gets teary talking about his girlfriend and daughter. Awww.

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 7

Posted By: admin On: November 2, 2010 Comments: ( 1 )

We’re back with our 200th episode and a lot of our past stars will be returning. Frankly, I can’t wait!

We start off with all 11 pros dancing to the first song of Season 1. That song is “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce. Fantastic - it was high energy and full of entertainment. Len was on his feet. They showed us who is in the audience from season’s past and to be honest with you - there are a few I didn’t recognize. Oops. One I did recognize is Jake Pavelka, Mr. Bachelor, himself who is trying to get his 15 minutes of fame back since his fall out with ex fiance Vienna. No one from Season 6 showed up. ha!

The team dance is back along with 2 captains: Kristi Yamaguchi who is introduced first. Her team consists of Rick/Cheryl, Bristol/Mark, and Kyle/Lacey.  Facing off against Kristi is Apolo Ohno. His team consists of Kurt/Anna, Brandy/Maks, and Jennifer/Derek. We see Kristi’s team practice first.

Team Kristi is up first with a Cha Cha Cha.  Rick is really keeping up with Kyle and Mark. They are dancing really fast. Him and Cheryl are the first couple to dance. Bristol and Mark are out next. She was in and out of it - stiff sometimes and other times not. Not consistent.  Kyle and Lacey bring up the rear and tear up the dance floor with pure entertainment. I thought all of them did great - very entertaining and fun. Kristi was raising the roof with her arms.

Len thought this team was the underdogs, but thought they had a lot of fire. Bruno called out Rick saying he kept up beautifully. Said Bristol lost her step, but did a good job. Carrie Ann said they were so insync. Scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Team Apolo is up next. In practice, Kurt is really out of place. Jennifer reminds everyone that she has to take a break every 2 hours due to a prescription she is taking. Apolo comes in and gives them words of encouragement. They also dance the Cha Cha Cha which is awesome b/c they usually have them dance different dances.  Kurt is in the front with his Apolo bandana on - he looks like him. I thought it was him. ha! Up first is Kurt and Anna - he was kind of funny. Brandy and Maks are next - she looked just a little timid. Jennifer and Derek bring up the rear - I think they are the best out of the three. The insync part is not as on par as the other team.  I thought it was fun and entertaining though.

The audience is screaming like bloody hell. Bruno called out all the stars and how good they were. Carrie Ann thought it was very tight and they all worked at their best. Len loved the changes and thought all individually were great. Scores are al 9’s for a 27 out of 30. They beat Team Kristi.

Returning now is Mel B from Season 5 as a guest judge. Mel B’s Paso Doble made the top 10 favorite dances. Kyle and Lacey are going to do the same dance. What’s weird about this is Kyle has to do the Maks moves and Lacey the Mel B. moves. Lacey’s moves might be a bit dumbed down and Kyle’s not so much. Does that make sense? I don’t think that was the same dance - b/c it didn’t look like it. Perhaps they just took some moves from it.  Len said this was his best dance. Mel B. said it was amazing. Bruno said he had the attack and energy of an untamed young bull, but to keep shoulders down on the Spanish line. Carrie Ann said it was a hard number to match up to b/c Mel B. performed the heck out of it. She thought they did the same. Scores are 1o from Mel B., 9 from Carrie Ann, and 2 8’s from Len and Bruno for a total of 35 out of 40. Grand total so far 62 out of 70.

Emmitt Smith is our next star judge. He won Season 3, remember? His dance is the Tango. Kurt and Anna are going to take on the challenge. He looks better when he is constantly in hold. I thought he did much better than last week, but I still don’t think he is on par with the leaders of this season.  Bruno said he went form last week Mission Impossible to this week Mission Accomplished. Told him to watch his neck, but overall well done. Carrie Ann said what Emmit brought was character and Kurt did the same thing. Emmitt said he knows why his neck is forward b/c he has to protect himself on the football field - he liked his outfit, technique and thought there was something very special on the dance floor. Len said he’s been critical, but he comes back stronger every time, but learn the difference b/w flex knees and bent knees - hold could have been tighter. Scores are 10 from Emmitt, and 3 8’s from the rest. Total of 34 out of 40. Grand total is 61 out of 70.

Celebrity judge #3 is Kelly Osbourne from Season 9. Her dance is the Viennese Waltz. Bristol and Mark will be attempting to channel this dance.  She looks lovely tonight and this dance seems to suit her pretty well.  I thought they did pretty well - she seems to have peaked last week and is on the path to actually doing well. Carrie Ann said Bristol has the power to touch our hearts, but she is still slightly detached. Kelly said she got goose bumps and said she did fantastic (she talked about herself a lot too - ha). Len said it lacked a little bit of chemistry together, but nice footwork. Bruno said she is a natural mover, but to ignite a little bit more. Scores are a 9 from Kelly and 8’s from the rest for a total of 33 out of 40. Grand total 57 out of 70.

Helio Castroneves is back!! Woohoo! Season 5 winner/champ is back to judge. I am sooooo excited! Helio’s quickstep will be the inspiration for this next dance. This is the one where he is dressed all in yellow and kisses Julianne at the end - to her surprise. ha! Rick and Cheryl will be doing this dance and he wants to channel Helio’s fun. His girlfriend Eliza Dushku stopped by to make sure he is being himself. He’s not dressed as a banana, but all in green like a Green Giant. He starts at the judges table giving Carrie Ann a rose and putting a hat on Len’s head. He’s pretty light on his feet. It was cute, but not as good as the original.  He did a lot of the moves from Helio’s dance which was great and even kissed Cheryl at the end.  Bet it was hard for Cheryl to do Julianne Hough choreography. ha! Len is still wearing the hat with a huge feather - he said he came out full throttle, slick, great, it was good. Bruno said it was his best performance - more faces than Jim Carrey. Helio said Cheryl did a great job putting a lot of his moves in and said Rick stole his kiss. ha! He said they did incredible. Carrie Ann called him the jolly green giant - said it was by far his best dance. Scores are 10 from Helio, and 9’s from the others for a 37 out of 40. Grand total 61 out of 70.

Gilles Marini, Season 8 runner up is back to guest judge. His dance is the foxtrot and performing that tonight is Brandy and Maks. She has really come along way in this competition. She got a little tied up at the end with her footwork, but she managed to stay standing.  Bruno said it was a foxtrot sealed with sex. He’s had enough now for three months - but called out the messed up footwork. Gilles said he felt goosebumps all over his body - performance was unreal. Carrie Ann said she loved how she attacked the sensuality parts and she liked her transitions. Len said we’ve just witnessed the most fantastic foxtrot and can’t believe they are pointing out the little misstep. Scores are 3 9’s and a 10 from Len for a total of 37 out of 40. Grand total 64 out of 70.

Season 2 Winner Drew Lachey is back. Jennifer and Derek will be dancing the inspired Tango. Jennifer goes to the doctor b/c she feels broken down. Her doctor told her to pace herself. Derek says he forgets she is 50. She’s feeling lots of doubts whether or not she can finish the show. hmmm. I think she did pretty well. I would have liked to have seen just a bit more intensity in the face, but her moves were good and I thought the technical part was superb. Carrie Ann said this show is truly a journey - no one loves more than to see someone come back after a tough week and blow the doors off. Len said all her frustrations were vented in this tango. Drew said musicality was amazing, beautiful lines, and an amazing partner she needs to trust, Bruno said she should have the confidence b/c she can go all the way in this.  Scores are 3 9’s and a 10 from Drew for a total of 37 out of 40. Grand total 64 out of 70.

Leaderboard:

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy 64 out of 70

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 64 out of 70

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 62 out of 70

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke 61 out of 70

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya 61 out of 70

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 57 out of 70

What a fun night. I will have to say watching the “inspired” dances doesn’t compare to the original. I miss my Helio, Apolo, and Drew. Obviously Bristol and Kurt will be in trouble tomorrow night. Better vote for your faves, people.

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 6

Posted By: admin On: October 26, 2010 Comments: ( 13 )

Will this be Bristol’s week to leave? One can only hope.  The stage will be transferred into the glitter dome b/c this is Rock Week! Wow - we’ve got some hard core music and fire. Yep, I said Fire-eh! Bruno is in leather. He’s taking this very seriously.

Btw, they are going to reveal our top 10 favorite dances of all time.  I’m sure Drew Lachey/Cheryl Burke’s Thriller routine will be included.  First up in 10th place is Shawn Johnson (Season 8 winner) and Mark Ballas with their freestyle routine.  9th place is Argentine Tango from Season 9 - Gag Donny Osmond (winner) and Kym Johnson.  8th place is Quickstep w/Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough - Season 5 Winner.  I still get goosebumps when I watch this and I feel happy!! Helio still looks as cute as ever - I loved this season! Also apparently Julianne wasn’t expecting Helio to kiss her at the end which is why her face is complete shock. haha!

7th place is freestyle w/Apolo Antwon Ohno and Julianne Hough - Season 4 Winner.  That also was great to see. I miss Julianne Hough!!  Number 6, futuristic Paso Doble from Season 9 with Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough.  Number 5 is Paso Doble - Season 5 with Mel B. and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  Number 4 is Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough’s Paso Doble - Season 10. In third place is Apolo Antwon Ohno and Julianne Hough dancing the Samba - Season 4 Winner. In second place is the tango with Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke - Season 8 runner up. And our favorte dance of all time is Freestyle - Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke (season 2 winner). Wow - Thriller with Drew isn’t included.  That is the one dance that sticks out in my head.

First impressions: Audrina is scatly clanned in red and black - showing lots of tummy and lots of leg. owowow! Kyle is in purple and Gray. His shirt looks leather.  Lacey’s outfit is hideous - feathers on the shoulders, pieced together - ugh! Rick Fox is in gray and his hair is in a mohawk. Brandy is in black and silver. Bristol is in purple and looks like she belongs to the drumline. Kurt is in wine and black. Jennifer Grey looks smashing in black and gray as well.  Looks like most of the stars got into the Rock theme cept Bristol and Mark who look like they belong in a high school marching band.  Derek Hough is wearing guyliner by the way. ha! Tonights are Tangos and Paso Doble’s.

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani are up first dancing the Paso Doble. Tony told her not to think so much. Because she is so sweet, Tony takes her to do some MMA fighting. Let’s see if it helps. She’s got some nice legs. I feel like she can attack it a bit more. She’s got the face on, but it doesn’t seem rough enough. To be honest with you - I didn’t care for the choreography on this one. Hmmm. Len said she is getting on his nerves b/c she’s got the potential to blow us all away, but it lacks the character every week. Bruno said Len is absolutely right - she needs to get to the next stage in Latin. Carrie Ann says she agrees but she loves the improvement she’s shown since week 1. She says she is lacking the intention in the movement. Scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer have the Tango this week. There’s a lot of fire going on on the stage. So far so good - I like the intensity. Wow that was pretty good - kinda violent, but I think a Tango needs some of that. I couldn’t take my eyes off it to blog so comments are sparse from me. Bruno said he can tell he put a lot of work into this b/c his hold was kept all the way through, footwork so much better, much better overall. Carrie Ann loved how he threw in the Kyle Style, amazing carriage this week, just a spot where he got out of control, but good job. Len is going to back him tonight - he worked hard and the dance is much better. Len wants balance b/w performance and technique. It was an improvement over last week. Scores are 2 8’s and a 7 from Len for a 23 out of 30.

Dancing the Paso Doble is Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. I saw her foot come off the floor so not sure if the lift police will call that a lift or not. Not only do we have fire going on on the stage, but little fire crackers going off too. It was good all the way through until she lost her turn at the end and looked a little lost. He pulled her in and she fell down into his arms. I’m not sure if that was rehearsed or not b/c she looks scared to death.  And can someone tell me why Jamie Lee Curtis is always in the audience cheering her on every week? I don’t get it. Melanie Griffith is also sitting by Jamie. Carrie Ann told her to calm down b/c she was out of control - her leg came off the ground - she is going down hill. Len said it is about balance - she lost control by trying to go for the gusto. Bruno said she got the rage right, but she lost the quality of movement. Derek takes responsibility for it. Scores are 2 7’s and a 6 from Biatch, Carrie Ann for a 20 out of 30.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke are up next dancing the Tango.  He’s got the same face on the entire time. ha! I think his hold is pretty good and he parterned really well.  He looked like he gave Cheryl a good shaken like shaken baby syndrome at the end. ha! I thought he did alright - not sure what I didn’t like about it, but it was just ok to me. Len thought he did an excellent job. Bruno said he loved the attack - he wanted it a little more light.  Btw, he’s wearing guyliner. Carrie Ann thought they did amazing - but sometimes be careful about being so stern. Martha Stewart is in the audience. Wonder if she is considering doing the show.  Remember, Florence Henderson was in the audience for at least a couple of seasons scoping things out. Anyways, scores are all 8’s for a 24 out of 30.

Dancing the Paso Doble, is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas.  They plan to play the air guitar during their performance. Mark feels like they are going to get in trouble, but she wants to do it to show more performance and personality. Guessing Len will hate this. The strength and intensity is right up her alley b/c she doesn’t have to show much emotion, but a stern face. So far so good - great hold! They break hold and go into air guitars - ha.  I honestly can say this is her best dance of the season. It wasn’t out of this world, but it was pretty good for Bristol. Bruno said it was the best performance and technique. Carrie Ann called it ridiculously amazing. Len said last week a chimp almost a champ - he called out them breaking the hold (he’ll drop them 1 point). Scores are 2 8’s and a 7 from Len for 23 out of 30.

Woohoo - for the 200th episode celebration our faves return: Helio Castroneves, Kelly Osbourne, Emmit Smith, Drew Lachey, Mel B., Gilles Marini… Apolo Ohno and Kristi Yamaguchi go head to head as team captains.  Ohhh - I’m intrigued and can’t wait! Woot!

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya are dancing the Paso Doble. Bret Michael’s shows up to tap into Kurt’s wild side. They are recycling music b/c this was done by Edyta (forget her partner), but the song is Final Countdown. His hands are still messed up and he isn’t intense enough in parts. He also looks like a robot in spots. The footwork and dancing at the end was pretty good. I didn’t quite like how this dance suited him though. It was awkward at times. Carrie Ann said the dance was scruffy scruffy - the dance didn’t have a lot of polish - she said he didn’t look comfy. Len said he could see what he was trying to do, but it didn’t come off. He said it looked awkward. Bruno said it looked like he was doing karate (my robot comment). Scores are all 6’s for an 18 out of 30. I’m shocked at that score.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have the Tango this week.  She leaves practice and cries b/c of all the pressure. Maks goes and gets her b/c he hates to see her cry - he went right back into dancing to channel the passion. Intensity is good - hold is good - character is also good. I see no problems so far. Len said Maks is his hero b/c he’s come out with a dance full of intensity, passion, aggression - the dance of the night. Bruno said now that tango really rocked - is it Brandy or Tina Turner in Mad Max. Carrie Ann said she had goose bumps all over her arms - she said she saw a few tiny missteps. Scores are 2 9’s and an 8 from Carrie Ann for a 26 out of 30.

Next up is the dance marathon which is traditional ballroom competition. Lifts are allowed, jive and lindy hop moves are allowed. If your shoulder is tapped you are out. With 4 couples left you can break position and use whatever floor you want to use.

By the way - Skating with the Stars will premier which is a spin-off of DWTS.  Should be interesting. I’d much rather dance than skate. Props to those stars that try this.  By the way, I just caught Jennifer Grey’s hubby yawning.  Bored? ha!

Back to the dance marathon…points are given based on how the couple is ranked. Audrina starts of with a trick a flip over Tony’s head. Kurt looks a little timid here - they are the first out.  They get 4 points. Next out is Bristol and Mark - he tried to do the worm and it didn’t cut it. They get 5 points. Rick and Cheryl are kicked out next and they get 6 points. Kyle and Lacey are eliminated next and get 7 points. The remaining couples go all hog wild on the dance floor. Audrina and Tony are out now with 8 points. Jennifer and Derek are the next out and they get 9 points.  Brandy and Maks are the dance marathon champs with 10 points.

Leaderboard:

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy 26 out of 30 plus 10 for 36 out of 40

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani 24 out of 30 plus 8 points for 32 out of 40

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke 24 out of 30 plus 6 points for 30 out of 40

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer 23 out of 30 plus 7 points for 30 out of 40

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough 20 out of 30 plus 9 for 29 out of 40

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas 23 out of 30 plus 5 points for 28 out of 40

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya 18 out of 30 plus 4 for 22 out of 40

Kurt Warner seems like he is in trouble this week. He just might go..and I wouldn’t care much if he did. He’s worn out his welcome.

Dancing with the Stars Season 11 Week 5 Results

Posted By: admin On: October 20, 2010 Comments: ( 1 )

Who is gonna go tonight?  Bristol?  I hope so.  We are gonna get right to the results. I couldn’t be happier….

We are starting out with the bottoom 2 couples from the judges scores last night - Bristol Palin/Mark Ballas and Kyle Massey/Lacey Schwimmer.

First safe couple is Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer Week 5

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are also safe. WTH?

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas Week 5

Brandy and Maks are asked to do their Quickstep again for the encore dance. After that we get a fake commercial of Bruno promoting his hot new dance DVD “Bring it like Bruno” and if you call now you get “Bring it like Bruno…a little harder” where you get to do dances like “Churning Butter,” “The Headache,” and “the pencil sharper.”  I don’t know about you, but it makes me want to call now…NOT! Bruno was hilarious though in his black wife beater and tight black pants.

Our entertainment tonight is Jason Derulo singing his hit song “In my head.”  I love this song!  Jason goes into the audience and there are some old geezers clapping their hands to the beat with a fake smile on their face - it looks like they are in pain. ha!

Brooke is backstage with the 2 safe couples.  I just don’t get Bristol. I cant tell if she is smug or just don’t really know how to answer the questions. She annoys me.

The highest scoring couples are up on the stage now about ready to find out their fate. But before we do, we get a fake commercial for “Easy Steps.” They make Rick Fox King of the Ballroom…apparently the easy steps are also good for flipping burgers, opening pickle jars, and are microwave safe. Wow - so many uses. As a bonus gift we get Derek Hough - for free. Wow..that’s a deal. I hope he leaves his bad temper in California. ;)

Brandy and Maksim are the next safe couple

Brandy and Maksim Week 5

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are in jeopardy

Jennier and Derek Week 5

Next we are gonna do something we’ve never done before according to Brooke. Hmmm..what could it be?  Apparently there is a family out in the audience and we are gonna hear their story. Tom is with them now. Their life started in the Congo and ended in the US.  A woman is in the audience with her 5 boys…we are getting a taped package of their story. Their thing is dancing..we see all the boys get up in the living room to dance. Their father was assassinated in the Congo and they wouldn’t have survived had the Mom not taken charge and protected them. The boys wanted to thank their Mom for everthing she’s done…they are surprising her by rehearsing a dance with Kym Johnson and will perform for her on the show tonight. Awww…. They are dancing the Cha Cha Cha. They get to dance with our girl pro dancers.  That was fun. I can’t tell if the Mom is in tears or not, but the boys did great and they give her a huge hug! How sweet!

Up on the stage now are Rick Fox/Cheryl Burke and Kurt Warner/Anna Trebunskaya.

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya are safe.

Kurt and Anna Week 5

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke are in jeopardy.

Rick and Cheryl Week 5

The Hoff is back-a-lack…gag me!  He is starring in his own fake commercial as I type.  He is a lawyer dealing with dance related accidents.  He is doing those real cheesy ambulance chaser commercials. Margaret Cho and The Situation are some of his happy clients. BTW, he’s in the audience tonight too..what a treat!

Shakira is now performing “Loca.”  She sure is doing some sexy dancing.  She’s known for her belly dancing if you didn’t know already.  I bet Len and Bruno love the hip action here.  They need to tell the contestants to channel their inner Shakira during the Latin dances.

Performing next is Jason Derulo again singing Georgia on My Mind…the old Ray Charles hit.  We are “treated” to two pros that aren’t our pros.  They are new. One looks like a very clean cut Derek Hough. I don’t know who they are, but they sure are doing lots of tricks.

Next safe couple is Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani

Audrina and Tony Week 5

Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas are still in jeopardy

Florence and Corky Week 5

I have a feeling that good ole Flo might leave us tonight. That’s the only thing that makes sense here.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are safe tonight.  Corky can’t quit smiling..kind of weird. Anyways - I know where this is going. Rick and Cheryl are going to be safe tonight and Florence and Corky are leaving us tonight. Quit smiling Corky!  Honestly I know Flo needed to go at some point, but tonight was NOT that night. Tonight was Bristol’s night to go.  Florence’s speech sounds like she is accepting an award for something… I’d like to thank the producers, the crew, the cast. haha!  We’re sad to see you go tonight, Flo. We’ll miss you..kinda. Btw, Jennifer Grey is in tears. She looks like she will defintely miss Flo.  See ya next week!
